jweb, I suppose they could lead-off Castro since this season is in the crapper.  But you and I both know Sleepy Lou won't figure it out.  Hell, he's leading Colvin off.

Out of the eight position players in the lineup today, Lou chose the two with the lowerst OBP to hit 1-2.

...blows my mind...

Hell, it's actually worse than that... out of the eight position players in the lineup toay, the three lowest OBPs hit 1-2-3.

...wow...

Fortunately, Randy Wells didn't crap the bed in the 1st inning as he is wont to do.

Colvin hits a couple homers, meaning he wont play until Wednesday. Too bad the team is a joke. How do you give up 3 homers to a stiff like Drew Stubbs? He's terrible, but I guess facing the Cubs pitching helps.

I tuned into the game late, in the 7th or so... Brenly said the Reds' hitters had been 'running up to the plate from the on-deck circle in order to get their cuts in today...'

LOL

Reds hit 7 HRs I think... wow...

So, I hear college football season starts soon.  NFL preseason games begin next month.  And it won't be that much longer until college basketball fires up.

An example of why this season is so frustrating:

Major League Team ERA leaders since May 15

1) Cubs -- 3.32 (Team record since May 15: 19-24)
2) Padres -- 3.52 (24-20)
3) Braves -- 3.60 (29-15)
4) Dodgers -- 3.62 (25-18)
5) Cardinals -- 3.69 (22-21)

It's a crime that Lou can't get the most of his players that are hitting well by moving Lee and Ramirez down in the line-up and getting Soto more playing time and ABs.

How about Ollie Perez for Zambrano?  Cubs save money as Z is owed more than Perez.  Clearly they are 2 jackasses who have worn out their welcome.  Maybe a change of scenery will help either/both.

The deadweight contract swap worked well in the offseason (Bradley for Silva), so I'm sure the Cubs would listen to any deadweight contract-swap consideration.

Oh wait, forgot Hendry was the GM... nix that.
