This is America.  And the sport that evokes more nostalgia among Americans than any other is baseball. So many people play the game as children  that it has become known as "the national pastime.  And is the first Pitstop for our race around the sports world.  14 teams have no idea what lies ahead.  But in the end, one team will cross the finish line first.  Win 1 million invisible bucks, and the amazing race- GD Style.

Below is a link for Thursdays Major League Baseball schedule and the starting pitchers that are scheduled to start.

I will need each team to send me 3 starting pitchers(and 3 tiebreaker hitters).  Your score will be calculated by the ERA of your 3 pitchers for that one game.  In case you don't know, ERA is calculated by taking the earned runs allowed, multiplying by nine.  And then dividing by the amount of inning pitched.  The team with the lowest ERA will be the winner, and get to U TURN a team of their choosing.  The team that receives the U TURN, will have a disadvantage at the next PITSTOP.  The team that finishes last MAY be eliminated.



In the event of a tie, I will use the following tie breakers

1) Total Strikeouts by those 3 pitchers
2) Highest batting average of the 3 hitters you also send to me.


If a game gets rained out, you get nothing.  If you try to out smart me, and don't act within the spirit of the game. I may penalyze any teams involved.

Picks are to be sent to me via sitemail before any of your pitchers start.  So make sure to check the times.  I will post the picks Thursday for everyone to see.  Just a reminder, any teams that fail to send me any picks will automatically be eliminated.  And the team that finishes last MAY still be eliminated.

1) No, the first picks that I receive from anyone on your team are the picks that will be used.

2)  From the rules section on page 1:
The last team to the PIT STOP is most often sent home. There is, however, two or three legs per season that are non-elimination legs. The teams do not know ahead of time which legs will be non-elimination. But I will.  The last team to arrive(Lowest score) to the non-elimination PITSTOP will start the next leg with a disadvantage.   In addition to the score we will continue to build off of in the next leg.

If that team turns out to be eliminated, it would be a wasted U TURN.  If it was a non elimination leg, then the last place team would receive an even larger disadvantage.  But I don't announce if it is a non elimination leg until after the U TURN decision is announced.
