I’ve Worn Many Hats League
Some players are franchise icons, playing their entire careers for one single team. This league is for the opposite of these guys. This league celebrates the journeyman…the guy traded mid-season…the masters of the free agent contract.
There are 29 players who have played for 10 or more franchises whose careers ended after 1900. These special 29 will be the basis for this theme.
When you sign up, select a player from the list. He will be your team captain. You can select any season you want of your captain, but he must have equal to or more sim PAs/IPs than his real life season PAs/IPs/162 for your team to be playoff eligible.
Once you have your captain, you must select a minimum of 2 of his teammates from each season/franchises he played with. You must use his actual teammates from each franchise in the seasons he played there...no twisting. Use http://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/leaders_most_franchises.shtml to determine what franchises and seasons your player played for to determine teammates.
For example: Mike Morgan played for:
- Oak in ’78-’79
- NYY in ‘82
- TOR in ’83
- SEA in ’85-’87
- BAL in ’88
- LAD from ’89-’91
- CHC from ’92-’95, and ‘98
- STL in ’95-’96
- CIN in 96’-’97
- MIN in ’98
- TEX in ’99
- ARI from 2000-’02
You would have to have 2 A’s from ’78-’79, 2 Yankees from ’82, 2 Blue Jays from ’83, 2 Mariners from ’85-’87, 2 Orioles from ’88, 2 Dodgers from ’89-’91, 2 Cubs from ’92-95 or ’98, 2 Cardinals from ’95-’96, 2 Reds from ’96-’97, 2 Twins from ’98, 2 Rangers from ’99 and 2 Diamondbacks from ’00-’02 to make your 25 man roster.
