Round 2 Draft Order Process Topic

We have two drafts in round 2.  To be fair, a draft order will be randomly determined.  This order will be used to "select" a draft position in either of the two drafts.  For example, if you get first pick, you can choose to draft 1st in the $100M league, 1st in the $110M league, or any other position in either league.  There's definatley some strategy in where you want to draft, especially since the draft order in the 110M league is also the division alignment.

I have asked two different owners to help me out with this.  Owner 1 will give me a random order of the round 2 participants names.  Owner 2 will give me a random order of numbers, 1 thru 24.

Since there has to be two rounds of this (24 picks for 48 draft order slots), I'm assuming the second round is a snake of the first round, right?

i think that the draft snakes... not the picks. so if i picked the #1 pick in the 100mil draft, i would just get whatever slot was left in the 110mil draft. as opposed to getting #1 in the 100mil and #24 in the 110mil. at least i think that's how it goes.

of course i haven't really done any research and i have the first pick.

Yes, the draft snakes.

wow, this is making my brain hurt. let's say that i use my #1 pick to pick the #5 pick in the 100mil draft.

then once everyone is done picking their slots in the 100mil draft, with that #5 pick i would choose the Tigers (assuming they don't go off the board with picks 1-4), who would probably be picking 7th or 8th in the rule 5 draft.

then i would just get whatever slot was left (1-24) in the 110mil draft.

That is correct.

I do it this way because just randomly giving somebody picks 1 and 24 or picks 2 and 23, etc. is not necessarily the fairest way to distribute the picks.  Certain picks have more value (and it's not always 1 is better than 2, 2 is better than 3) and I like to leave it up to each person to assess that value and choose accordingly.

I'm glad you asked this question...

AND... in this scenario, even though I'm picking last in the 110mil draft i am almost guaranteed not to have the last pick.

so i will have used the 1st pick to get the 5th pick in the 100mil team selection, then get the 7th pick in the rule v draft. then i will have used the 24th pick in the 110mil draft to get the 16th pick in the actual draft.

OK, I think I've got this figured out enough to make my pick.

I'm going to choose pick #1 in the 100mil draft
