My 110 win team (best record among all teams in the tournament) gets swept 3-0 by an 81 win team......I mean, is there anything else to even say at this point?

Ouch, that does seem pretty ridiculous. You do seem to have unusually poor luck in the playoffs MnH, but that is absolutely beyond the pale...

Facing elimination, with Eddie Collins and the Bomb Squad in a 2-1 hole at 120m, Sandy Koufax steps up his game to force a game 5 by throwing a no-hitter www.whatifsports.com/slb/Boxscore.aspx

Wow...and faced the minimum...gave a walk to the first batter, who was then CS, and retired the next 26 in a row.  Quite a performance by Mr. Koufax.

Just one more example of why WIS needs a small home-field advantage built in to the numbers.  I just lost a playoff series to an 82-80 team, but my team won a piddly 96 games.

I have three series going to game #5.  No pressure.

Won 1 series, lost another, have a 3rd going to game 5...not sure how many points I need, but I would feel a lot better about my chances of staying in the cage if I could advance another team to the LCS.

Hey, better than having a pair of teams with a .600 pythag swept out of the first round, schwarze.  I'd kill for a couple more game 5s.

no more bubble for me, I'm done.
:(

Somebody below the bubble must  be moving up?  Let's hear from them (unless they don't want to jinx themselves).

So my 100-win team gets swept in the first round by an 87-win team, and now my 85-win team is about to be swept by a better team (who I went 8-4 against in the regular season).  I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.  Thanks WIS

Despite finishing in the top 24, only 3 of my 6 teams made the playoffs, and 2 of the 3 lost in the first round...only one of which was a "Good Loss" (thanks jfranco for the new term)....my spot in the cage is extremely insecure.

I wish I could say I was on the bubble, but I think 41ish Is a bit outside it. I moved on two of three teams so I guess there's an outside chance. Probably not going to be enough though. I was bummed my gaylord Perry/Ralph garr team was one of the ones that moved on though. I was proud if the unique combo moving on.

I was 24th in projections, but lost ALL THREE 1st round series, including a 98-win team getting swept by an 84-win team.  So I'm back to hoping that a whole bunch of guys don't buy new six packs in time for the next round.

I was 27th in the final standings, but only got two teams into the playoffs.  One has advanced, and one is down 2-1.  I think that puts me squarely on the bubble.  My guess is that I need my advancing team to get into the WS, and hope that I can come back in the other with a series win or at a minimum a "good loss"...
10/1/2010 9:37 AM
I was 22nd.  4 playoff teams...two are already out (including a 102-win team getting dropped handily by an 80-win team).  1 has moved on.  The 2nd is up 2-1 in the LDS...would feel a whole lot better if that team moves on as well.
10/1/2010 10:57 AM
Well, I guess I am a bubble team now.  2-0 in one of my LCS's and 1-1 in the other to start off.  I'm kickin myself for going with a four man rotation so long in one of the leagues.  Carl Lundgren was about an automatic loss and my mis-management probably cost me another playoff team.
