So then I can use both the players of the 86 mets (any season of those players) and of the 99 yankees (any season of those players) and then I use my choice of either 99 rickey or 86 rickey. Is this correct?  sorry, I know it's easier than I am making this out to be.
He's correct except he flipped the teams. It's 86 Yankees and 99 Mets.

quick question: in the 120 mil league, which League II park is in play?

schwarze: can you clarify a rule for the pitching/defense league?

in the description, you wrote "If a player plays more than one position, at least one of his positions (not C or P) must pass the defensive requirement."

but on page 3, in response to sgsmith, you said "
a player whose primary position is outfield (listed as OF when drafted), and he does not meet the 20+ defensive requirement at outfield or any other position, *but* he's rated at catcher with a qualifying Arm rating" would be legal.

these two statements seem to contradict to me, in that the player sgsmith described does not have a position other than C that passes the defensive requirement. I'm assuming that the answer is that one of his positions (not C or P) must pass the 20-point defensive requirement OR he must have a catcher arm rating of 10 or greater—but I'd like to be sure!

I worded the first sentence poorly.

The key is that I'm not going to police where players play.  So if you can find a player eligible at catcher with an A- or better arm, but want to play him at 1B or OF or wherever, that's ok.  Which means he is eligble.

Sometimes I wish we could play three concurrent versions of this tourney so I could try all my teams out.  Second-guessing final choices is one of the cruelest parts of this thing.

Ahh, but there's always a chance I could bring back the same theme (w/blacklist) to next year's championship like I did with one theme in 2009-10.  I already have one theme in mind for that...

It would pretty much have to be the $70mil or $110mil themes.  The $80mil, $90mil and $120mil themes don't really work for blacklists, and the $100mil theme, a blacklist wouldn't throw much of a kink into it.

Glad to be back for another go around.

Great job, schwarze!!

Yep, you're correct.  I was thinking 110M.

One of my favorite parts of this tournament (going 0-4 in the first round with my playoff teams doesn't count) is when schwarze releases the league recaps that list the twisted teams, twisted players, starting pitchers, etc. that everyone chose.  It's a fascinating insight into what makes successful team-building.

All 6 teams entered. I love 2 teams, like 2 teams and hope the last 2 don't lose 100 games.
