Quick update

Its interesting to see which themes fill the fastest and slowest.  This year, the $80M is filling quickly and I found it among the easiest of the 6 to do.  Conversely, I thought the $100M theme was perversely hard and I'm gratified to see that the group in general is sharing my pain.

I made decent teams for all themes fairly quickly back in June (two I had to, because I'm the commish).  100M definitely took the longest and most tries to get something I liked much.  I've entered 4 -- I left 70M and 100M in the Draft Center so I could continue to mess around with them.  Now they've been sitting untouched for over a month. Life has intervened and I have found/made no time to try to find alternatives.  Maybe I'll get to it before the final deadline...

FYI -

As you know, the final deadline for getting all six teams is this Saturday (July 30).  I am actually leaving for vacation Friday and will be gone 8 days.  I should have internet access, although I won't be on frequently.  Sunday, I will check to make sure everybody got their six teams in.  I've already verified the legality of most of my league's rosters (that have been entered).  Before the leagues start playing games, I will be asking the other commissioners to send me the rosters from their leagues.  I will be doing some spot checking on those rosters as well...  After all the checking and re-checking is completed, I expect the leagues to start playing games next weekend.

I wish I would have paced myself a little better this year.  I made teams in all the themes pretty quickly in an initial burst.  Then I gradually entered teams to meet deadlines and/or as I became comfortable with what I'd done.  Except for two themes: 70M and 110M, which I told myself I needed to get back to to see if I could find something better.  Well, I got up early thismorning and I've been working on 70M for 3 hours without finding anything better.  Didn't even get to 110M this morning, but I'm out of time and out of patience.  I'm entering both teams with teams I made back in June and haven't thought much about since then.

Overall, I'll be disappointed but not surprised with mediocre results this year and a second straight year of not movnig on to Round 2.
