Looks like the clock finally struck midnight on this ol' Cinderella story. I feel like I played way over my head for two months and can't believe it took my longtime playoff ineptitude to finally do me in. Good luck in the final round to those who make it, and see you all next year!
You put me on life support with that play-in win in the variable league. I’m hanging in but losing that team hurt a lot. You did well.

Thanks bud. I was really hoping to face you in the World Series of our $90M league, but as I often do, I fell a game short.

Can you calculate the probability of accumulating 4 or fewer points from 4 playoff teams (PennQuaker) and also the probability of accumulating 8 or fewer points from 5 playoff teams (brianjw and myself)?
1.27% for PennQuaker

8 or fewer is going to take me longer than I feel like spending, quite a lot of permutations. I got to three or fewer and it was at 0.29%, my guess would be in the 1 to 3% range
I set up a simulation in Excel. Getting 8 or fewer points with 5 teams is actually a little higher than thought. Somewhere in the 5-6% range.

Without regular playoff updates, I think we're all going to be a bit shocked when the live numbers suddenly come in.

I was getting excited for the color coded playoff updates myself....

Had my first bad session of the playoffs today. Went 1-3, with my 110 team losing game 7 of the LCS. Which is a statement on what incredible luck I've had so far

Standings update coming after the pm games

Well, there you have it folks. My $120M team was up 3-0 in the WS. In Game 4, we took a 4-2 lead into the 9th. '16 Kershaw started the 7th in relief and cruised through 2 innings. He started the ninth with single, single, FC, walk and was lifted after giving up a run. Why he wasn't left in to face the lefty Cobb, on a pull setting of 1, I'll never know. Enter '90 Eckersley, who had a 0.79 WHIP and 1.33 ERA during the regular season, allowing just 3 HR. So naturally, he serves up a walkoff 3-run HR to Cobb, the first hitter he faces. We then lose the next 3, including losses for '08 Joss and '16 Kershaw in Games 6 & 7. This team lost 4 straight once ALL SEASON, but can't protect a 3-0 WS lead. Absolute garbage. If I didn't already have my spot in Round 2, and this cost me, I'd probably be done with this site.

lol you won your other WS, so there was no way this could have cost you. You're going to finish with 561 playoff points, and that was always going to be enough to advance to Round 2.

You are correct. And I'm certainly not complaining about my overall performance. But that's the first 3-0 lead I've ever blown in the playoffs, much less a WS. I'd wager it's not a frequent occurrence, even in WIS.

I reckon I've had it happen around 5 times to me...and I've been on both ends.

This happens more often than you'd expect. That's my experience, at least. I've been on both sides of it in the playoffs & WS multiple times.

I stand corrected. Still very frustrating.

Really? The first ever 3-0 blown series lead? Rookie.

If it makes you feel any better at all, that was the complete highlight of my Round 1 disaster.
