I was gonna take the 85 cards as well, but couldn't get the team to fit 70 million. I tried over and over, but to no avail. Tough theme.

Count me in the "almost took the 85 Cards but didn't" camp as well.  Will be interesting to see how many people did end up with them.  No doubt one of them will win the WS in the 70M theme.

I waited until the last few minutes to enter my 70M team to keep researching teams.  As it came down to crunch time, I had settled on the '85 Cards...great speed pretty solid pitching.  Yes, I was finally satisfied with a team...then I started to load it and noticed I didn't have the required $35M from the Cardinals.  Crap.  So I entered another team that I didn't like anywhere near as much as the Cards....ugh.
Same problem, execept I forgot all about the $35M.  I had picked the Cards, entered them on Saturday.  Sunday I get a sitemail saying I have an illegal roster, didn't spend the $35M.  I didn't have time to look for another team, so I dropped my 2 catcher rotation I had to Porter and Nieto of the Cards, switched out Trammell to Griffin at SS, and changed to Herr at 2B from Randolph.  Squeezed everything in with 243 dollars to spare!

I won't say what team I chose until everything is finalized, but for the $70mil team, my goal was to find a team that was crappy in real life, with a handful of solid players. I also went after teams in fairly extreme pitcher's parks to make my IP and AB go further.

Doesn't matter. The fun is over.  I'm going to sit back now, watch my team's get slaughtered, and anxiously await the team building period next summer

Yeehaw! I have ballantine (9), bigmc (10), shaybee (12), tjefferson (15) and contrarian23 (16) as division mates. Outside of that, no one is ranked above 30. This could be a good sign.  My toughest division will be with bigmc and contrarian in the $120mil league, in which I expected to get slaughtered anyway.
