Happy Thanksgiving. May the Lord bless you and keep you in his will for all the days of your life.
THANK you, and may his blessings be with you, and your family, forever.. May his MERCY be upon the US and Canada, because both nations have gone their own way.. but every year, this American thanksgiving comes and with it, lots of indications that there is still much faith in America. Canada, not so much

WHY are born again believers SO QUIET?? It's okay to make a few waves. Not good though, to push too hard

Specifically who are you talking to or about ? I don't doubt your faith or salvation status, but you push too hard around here more than anyone else. As I've said elsewhere, that approach may hook one along the way if that's the kind of message the Spirit has prepped them for and maybe you receive a crown for it to offer back upon the alter, but it also drives too many away who otherwise may have been receptive to a softer approach or example. If some are already lost and their minds are made up, wish them good luck with that in hell. God doesn't give up on us until we give up on Him. Don't help that process.

Apologeeze to all. This thread is about an American holiday yet a Canadian felt obliged to jump in and not only not wish us well on our day, but publicly admonished those he felt should be doing more for the cause against haters and unbelievers. Besides himself, and I've tried to keep my contributions to a minimum of hitting anyone over the head with it, I'm probly next in line for occasionally trying to fight the good fight. So I took his misplaced admonishment personally, and pushed back. Apologeeze again for taking the bait. Unfortunately, often enough we battle each other as much or more than the real enemy, and that's never a good witness to a watching world. Might be time for another non-sports vacay.

It's one thing to "believe" and "have faith" and it is a completely different thing to "proselytize" or be a "zealot." The "waves" that you speak of are just that. I reject you and those who would side with you because this is what you are. I reject organized religion because it is built upon these concepts.

PaI, I was once where you are big time so I’m certainly not criticizing you. I mean that sincerely. The religious stuff is a bit too frequent but today is appropriate.

I don’t take it as proselytizing and it is not offensive to me because I am very good with my beliefs and ideals and I am very tolerant in the best way and I understand what religion means to people who have it. If you consider the depth of their passion they are well meaning and feel a great need to express it. It might be misguided in that it can offend some but it is not meant to offend.

I just wish that they could make the corresponding leap to the one that I have made.

Rsp please do not take this as criticism but I think you will at some point get to where I am and it is much better.

I'm not going to "get" anywhere with people such as him or anybody else that preaches that those who don't believe as they do are condemned in some way. I think he's a closed-minded religious bigot and that he is the WORST kind of offender of the two words I defined. You choose to tolerate what I find intolerable. To me his is one in the same with the Jim Bakker's and Joel Osteen's of the world. Reprehensible, offensive and everything that I consider wrong with organized religion. There is no middle ground with those of his ilk and they will be derided by me and exposed as the frauds that they are with posts like the one that elicited my response to him in the first place. He is a bad actor caught up in his own mythology and he constantly mixes it with his political views, as he did again today. I have ZERO desire to get anywhere close to where you are with your tolerance for proselytizing zealots such as him.
I don’t know enough about osteen but you are sure right about baker but the guys in the threads don’t spread their tidings gor money or personal gain.
They are truly invested in their beliefs.

The non believers angle was the main thing that had me ruled like you are but one day I just came to understand that they don’t want you or I to go to hell.
They are truly worried it will happen. They want to protect us. They truly believe it is what Jesus has said and it is in God’s hands.
Most people won’t press it if they feel that a non believer is intelligently making a different decision.

The sincere people of everyday daily life mean no harm and most mean no disrespect.

I applaud you fir your passion especially regarding the going to hell thing but they are definitely not saying that you should go to hell fir not believing but that according to their beliefs it will happen.

I just don’t take it seriously and not negatively.

In the beginning, America pledged to honor God, and dedicated the country to do this. The Mayflower Compact is pretty clear on this.. but today

If you tell unsaved folks where they can find everlasting life, then name call you. The truth is simple, There is a real heaven and a real hell. There is no such other place, no purgatory.. man deserves hell, but God loves us so much, he came to us in Human Flesh, and laid his life down for anyone who will truly believe on him. 'Whosever believes on him (Jesus Christ) will not perish, but shall have ever lasting life?'

and people get mad when they hear that. but this is the truth..

As for Osteen, Hinn et al.. I will leave final judgement to God.. but this doesn't mean I 'buy' their theology. It is not scriptural.

Our charge, as Christians, is to preach the Gospel to every one who will listen.. Every one. We are not here to win popularity contests. They also spoke evil of Jesus.. and this was after he restored a blind man his sight. 'They' called him a blasphemer. Yet he was God's Son, in human flesh.

The truth is disturbing, as it should be. but if your house is on fire, and you are sleeping, would you get mad at me if I woke you up and warned you to get out?? Well that is what this Gospel really is.. You don't have to be in flames for all eternity, and the Bible says that is where those who refuse to believe will end up.. God is not wanting anyone to perish.. but that all would come to repentance..

and for the measure of Freedom we still have in America (and Canada) i do give thanks.. He has prospered this nation like none other in modern history. This is because for decades, we exalted him, and honored him in what we would say and do. and non believers were not hear as hostile as today. I remember this so well, actually. Thing is, today man seeks to exalt his SELF, and God hates human pride. I am not talking of the pride we feel for acing an exam, or helping someone along life's path, but the pride that seeks to make us to be seen as Gods.. this is much of the root of America's problems..

but that is my bit. You don't have to like it.

Cheers

Your points are most valid. but,, it is written: 'Let the redeemed of the Lord SAY so' and if that is offensive, so are Beer commercials and ads for Viagra.. I find them pushy
