This is a draft league where each owner will end up with a roster comprised of players from 9 different franchises.

Draft will officially begin on Monday 11/27. Do not want to lose anyone who is traveling for Thanksgiving

We will be using the 16 original franchises (listed below). However, everyone will be entitled to use one Wild Card choice of a franchise not among the original 16 (including any 1961 or later expansion teams or Federal League teams) at any time in the draft.

Every round you will pick one franchise and the appropriate amount of players. You can only use those players in seasons they played for that franchise. Once a player is picked anywhere in the draft he is exclusively yours. Once you pick a franchise, you must use a different franchise every subsequent round

Calling it Diamond Franchise because your final roster composition will be shaped like a diamond. I ran a Diamond Clones league that was somewhat similar and very successful.

The draft structure is as follows:

Round 1 - Pick 1 player
Round 2 - Pick 2 players, from a different franchise than the one in round 1
Round 3 - Pick 3 players from a different franchise than the one in round 1 or 2
Round 4 - Pick 4 players from a different franchise than the one in round 1, 2 or 3
Round 5 - Pick 5 players from a different franchise than the one in round 1, 2, 3 or 4
Round 6 - Pick 4 players -- cannot use any franchise you have used previously
Round 7 - Pick 3 players -- cannot use any franchise you have used previously
Round 8 - Pick 2 players -- cannot use any franchise you have used previously
Round 9 - Pick 1 player -- cannot use any franchise you have used previously

All players are exclusive.

For example,
1) You want to take Babe Ruth in the first round if he is still available. You would draft either Red Sox - Babe Ruth or Yankees - Babe Ruth. That owner can play any of Ruth's seasons played for that franchise (no need to declare which particular season when drafted) but subject to the $13mm or less restriction. In all subsequent rounds, that same owner may NOT draft any players from that franchise. No other owner can draft any Ruth seasons

2) So then in the second round, this same owner will choose 2 players from a different franchise than they took in Round 1 (players that have not already been taken since all players are exclusive). Say you want to use your Wild Card option and take someone from a team not among the original 16. You may take Wild Card Mets - Marv Throneberry and Choo Choo Coleman. That will be your one and only wild card choice and your remaining 7 rounds must come from an original 16 franchises;.

I will be keeping a list of all chosen players (with their respective franchises) as well as a matrix of franchises by owner

Only a 9-round draft so it should go pretty fast. There will be a clock to make sure at least one round gets done per day but it will not start right away. Draft will be run in the Theme League forum if and when we fill. More particulars:
