Heartland Conference...Supreme Topic

hey al, dont forget the commish, if he could win tonite (unlikely but not completely impossible) his rpi would soar (i would think)
Is it possible for Heartland to get 11 teams in the postseason?
by the wayallie
thanks for losing and thereby testing the " can a team with a losing record make the NT" theory

Anything to oblidge! 23 of my 27 games were against teams that will make post-season play. No wonder I'm 13-14. LOL

In non-conf play, I played Austin (15-11, RPI 115) and Brooklyn (19-7, RPI 139). Both are still alive in their tournaments and conceivably could get automatic berths.

In Heartland play, I met Manchester and Franklin. Since I played Manchester twice, the correct number should be 22 of 27.

Manchester lost to Hanover by 10 at home, and by 1 at Hanover. I've played Joke close, the question is, can I pull off the upset?
If I do Al could be at 25 of 27.

QUARTERFINALS:
Hanover 91; Manchester 90
Waynesburg 72; Mt. St. Joseph 58
Westminster 85; Anderson 63
Defiance 84; Franklin 64
SEMIS:
Hanover vs. Waynesburg
Westminster vs Defiance
Cinderella Waynesburg, #6 seed..can they continue their magical run?? They face tough Hanover next. Waynesburg upset them, 75-63, in their previous meeting this season. Hanover could be emotionally drained from their exciting victory over Manchester.
Defiance remains on the bubble. An upset win over Westminster could clinch at at-large berth. Westminster won the previous meeting at Defiance 68-58.
Due to our arduous conference schedule, Heartland teams have 10 in the top 20 SOS, including #1, #2, #3, #5 and #6

SEMI-FINALS
Hanover ended Waynesburg's Cinderella run 64-41.
Defiance upset #13 Westminster 84-81.
For the 1st time in history, the conference championship will feature two North Division teams.
The win by Defiance boosted their RPI from 62 to 43. If they lose to Hanover (RPI 1) tonight, I still think they'll get an at-large bid.
That'd give Heartland 5 bids plus 5 more to the PIT

7 different schools have won the tournament in the past 8 seasons. If Defiance wins tonight, that'll be 8 different champions. This is the most competitive conference is all of WIS!

OOPS! I must've been thinking of the schools that still have a varsity program.

I will remember that comment, Albert, when we play next year. You will rue the day!
