In fact, the Freedom has won the National Championship 3 of the last 8 seasons, 6 of the last 16, and 8 of the last 25.  Remarkably, in the last 25 seasons the Freedom has put 12 teams in the Championship game.  And the Freedom has won 3 of the last 4 PI Championships, with three different teams.

Great research, Jim!

In addition to the above mentioned, we've had six teams eliminated in the Final Four. Eight times, we've had teams fall in the Elite Eight round.

This past season was our best. Drew beat conference mate Penn St.-Behrend in the NT game. Fairleigh won the PIT.

After an outstanding season 40, season 41 starts off with 4 ranked teams in the Freedom: #1 Penn St, Behrend, #17 Fairleigh Dickinson, #21 Delaware Valley, and #23 Drew.

The Freedom is re-building a bit this season, including National Champion Drew.  They will have a tough time staying in the Top 25.  might also be short stayed.  It's a good team but being SIMs coached will take its toll.  The two teams that will join the Top 25, sooner rather than later, are Kings and .  Both have plenty of senior leadership. Hanging in the wings is .  This junior laden team is on the verge of maturing and becoming a major factor as the season progresses.

The Freedom ended non-con with the #2 Conference RPI, well behind Capital. With two SIMs teams that is very impressive. Even more so, only 2 teams are ranked. That seems an injustice, but the records and RPIs speak for themselves.

We are now past the mid-point of conference play and if the season ended today, the Freedom would have 6 teams in the NT. There are two others who are on the PIT bubble and two others who could make the PIT with a strong finish. That is 10 of the 12 teams in post season contention!

The Regular Season has come to an end and as we enter the Conference Tournament the Freedom has 4 NT spots locked up and two teams on the bubble. We should also have 2 PIT teams and 1 on the bubble. That is 9 of the 10 human coaches who are in, or close to being in the post season. The only human coached team not in contention entering the CT is DeSales, but Ewells is in the middle of a major rebuilding project and has no SRs, and only 2 JRs. The shame is Deleware Valley, which could have had a shot at a NT bid if it had a human coach.

"Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM CONFERENCE!!!"

Look like we'll have 4 NT teams and 4 more in the PIT. Carnegie Mellon, at RPI 93, could make the PIT as well

Freeddom receives 5 National Tournament bids and 2 PIT bids:

NT:

#1 Penn St, Behrend

#3 Drew

#7 Lycoming

#10 Kings

#13 Fairleieigh Dickinson

PIT

#1 Frostburg

#7 Lake Erie

* Carnegie Mellon misses out on the PIT but should they have been in? Upper Iowa gets in with a 20-7 record over CM who was 11-17. But Upper Iowa had a 98 RPI, a 219 SOS and played no Top 25 teams all season. CM had a 94 RPI, a 7 SOS and was 2-6 against the Top 25. It seems records are more important than SOS and RPI, at least in this case.
