Royals bullpen ERA: 2.55
Tigers: 4.01.
You need any more than that?

The Tigers are still better and will be more so by the time next season starts.

DEFIANT! Not listening to facts!
11/23/2013 12:45 PM
The FACTS are that the Royals had a better bullpen but the Tigers had FAR better starters and an overall better staff because of it. And when they add a legit hammer of a closer soon they will be that much better than the Royals.

Not by far, as you can see by the first post of page 3... The 'by far' is Royals bullpen over Tigers bullpen. You guys cannot beat the best closer in the MLB, Greg Holland. Royals average pitcher age: 29.5, Tigers 30.1.

Wow. 6 WHOLE months older. What a DIFFERENCE!!!  And Holland isn't even the best closer in MLB. That would be Kimbrel or Uehara last season. Now let's see. Who would you take? A rotation of Shields, Guthrie, Vargas, Duffy and Davis or a rotation of Verlander, Scherzer, Sanchez, Fister and Porcello? The Royals have lost Santana and Chen and added Vargas, hardly what anyone would call an improvement. It's not even close man, so stop already. You're just drinking blue kool-aid.

When you see Holland in the 9th, it is pretty much wrapped up.
Davis is not gonna be in our rotation. About 5 guys will be going for the 5 spot.

Kansas City's 2nd starter (Guthrie) would be competing with Porcello and Smyly for the 5th rotation spot in Detroit. And Holland has had exactly ONE year where he's been lights out. Let's see if that continues before locking him in as one of the best closers in the league. And Detroit is going to get Nathan or someone similar. How does that effect things if they get Nathan?

I just have my doubts about Detroit.

That's SEVEN months.  I see why you might think 6 wasn't all that significant.  Of course you'll understand how you missed the point due to a simple mathematical error now...

Coming from a Royals fan that really means a lot.

10 dollar g.c. says the Tigers win the division again next year. Put your money where your mouth is.
