My Wilt Trip-Dub attempt Topic

Would this be any more fun that the "Lets Get Kobe over 50 PPG League" that didn't fill? How about let's get a league going for Rodman ( in specified seasons only) at Less than 10 RPG League?

If you have an idea for an interesting theme league that hasn't been done before I'd like to hear it. Unless the theme league is a long running league (draft, progressive, etc) it's difficult to fill now.

My bad.

Yeah, I don't think he's gonna get there. 55 games, 9.1apg. On the bright side, he is leading the team in mpg, ppg, rpg, apg, spg, bpg and fg%!

I'm going to attempt at least one more time. Probably going to try pairing him up with the Mailman (liking the 89-90 season). I think that 32.6% usage will really cause Wilt to feed him the ball more. Gotta figure out a way to make up for rebounding, as Mailman (9/22.8) won't get it done by himself. I got several options, but am going to wait till the current season is done before entering attempt 3.

Okay, now that it is reasonably formatted...

Played in a division where for half of the season, four of the five other teams played half-court. At one point, a second team started playing up-tempo. Also, half of the other division in my conference was playing half-court.

*I had one game where Wilt fouled out in 28 minutes. Absolutely blew my mind. We only fouled them 15 times, and somehow, Wilt got 6 of those fouls called on him. Playing very aggressive foul situation so that he can come close to achieving his minutes.

*In addition to most of my division playing half-court, it was a very bad division, so at the end of games, I was up enough to warrant subbing in. I have my sub-in set for only the last 2 minutes with this team, so that I can keep Wilt at his RL minutes and try to reach his full potential minutes while simultaneously keeping the rest of the team rested enough to play them more against better teams. On top of everything, I still want to win.

*I put four guys in my starting line-up who not only had higher usage than Wilt (20.2), but four guys that score a 4 in the possession/usage chart (ie higher than 22.1%). However, none of these guys had exceptionally higher usage (I think Jamison has a 24, Moses has a 23.something, Redd 22.something and mo williams 23.something).

*Everybody on the team had way more assists than they did IRL, which is expected. Wilt didn't seemingly have a greater increase than the others despite having a much larger ast% than everyone with exception of Mo.

*The team still managed to shoot 51.3% from the field despite the low (in the fifties) ast%. Opponents shot 49.4%. We had: 132ppg, +11rpg differential, -1topg differential, +320 fta differential.

I think a league or a few guys doing this could possibly pull me out of retirement perhaps

Just put attempt #3 in an OL. It looks like its full tho and fixin' to start.

I'm to the point where I really don't care that he isn't getting the trip double, I'm just amazed at the great stats he's putting up.
3/18/2010 5:25 PM
Got to love those 4 BPG, eh?
3/18/2010 5:40 PM
should be 5-7 bpg =p

Latest attempt only has 3 starters with higher usage, but two of the three are significantly higher: 89-90 Mailman (32.6%) and 96-97 Glen Rice (26.9%). Both have high efg% and low ast%, too. Playing point is 05-06 Jason Terry (22.3% usage, 54.7% efg%, 14.7% ast% - which, if I learned anything from Mo, will kill Wilt's assists, but he was everything I needed for the right price). The fourth starter is 91-92 Rodman. My first attempt had him and ended up with 9.1apg, so I figure with the Mailman and Rice in there, I'll give it another shot. I should dominate the boards with Chamberlain (15.4, 26.7), Rodman (17.1, 31.6) and Mailman (9.0, 22.8) in my frontcourt. Terry might accidentally get a rebound or two and Rice... all I'm paying him to do is be on the floor and shoot, so if he does anything else at all it's a bonus.

I really want to do an attempt using Barkley, but I never really put together a line-up I liked with him. Thinking about trying Troy Murphy + a Landsberger or Kurt Thomas season at the four and putting Barkley at the 3 (which I couldn't do with the Mailman season I used, and he doesn't have the offensive boards I was looking for so I couldn't use Murphy there)...

I would get chuckers with bad def ratings, thus its high scoring always
