Just a quick overview of the conference and it's teams after recruiting and a couple warm-up EX games.
The conference is still divided into the haves and have nots, however that line is finally starting to become less pronounced.
I would call the top 6 the teams with B level prestige and include C+ Indiana State and C Drake.
The have nots are the 6 of us with a C- and below.
A prestige in the B range can actually recruit in some cases some very nice players.... while those of us with a D type prestige are still looking for very flawed players with some potential to develop down the road so we can then win more games and thus... raise our all important prestige grade.

Here is how the numbers look for overall team ratings (minus walkons), and then the average rating of everyone's proposed starting 5.

#1. Mizzou State = B (701-Overall) 761 starters
#2. Indiana State = C+ (674-Ov)     753 starters
#3. Southern Ill.   = C-  (701- Ov)    748 starters
#4. N. Iowa          = B-  (681- Ov)     732 starters
#5. Creighton      = D+ (682- Ov)     700 starters
#6. Evansville     = D+  (658 - Ov)    705 starters
#7. W. Kent.       = B-   (645 - Ov)    690 starters
#8. Garn Webb   = D   (645 - Ov)    700 starters
#9. Ill. State         = B-  (653 - Ov)     680 starters
#10 Drake           = C   (632 - Ov)     683 starters
#11 Wich State  = D+  (618 - OV)    669 starters
#12 Bradley        = D    (622 - Ov)    591 starters

Total prestige season  #68= 42
                                     #69= 51
                                     #70= 57
Getting better 3 seasons in a row.

My predictions for this season would be somewhat different from the list above.
I do think Missouri State is the #1 team in the conference this season.
I also believe Bradley will lose more games than anyone else (youth movement).
Thus my pick for #1 and #12 would be the above teams.
The middle 10 could vary.
I predict a break out season for the Salukis of SIU.
I also see a good season for Indiana State.
N. Iowa has talent and should be between 2nd and 4th.
Creighton is too high at #5. However, there is less difference from our overall average and our starters than any other team.
Creighton is still young, and very weak in the back-court, but by seasons end we might be playing closer to that 5th or 6th place level. (not sure if it will be too late to make any difference in that D+ or not).
Evansville, GW, ILL State, and Drake appear to be rebuilding but each are capable of moving up several spots on the list.
Wichita State and Bradley are in a rebuilding for the future mode and this will be a season of just improving players ratings and getting better.

I'm just hoping to keep my B- and maybe make the NIT.  Starting 4-0 is a good step in that direction

Out of the gate, things seem to be trending in the right direction.

Quick overview of the conference before we start.
East Division
#1. SIU looks very good again this season after a break-out last year. They return nearly everyone from a team that ran away with the East.
#2. Indiana State is now sim coached, however, ktreloar was a good coach and left a good core behind. They could still finish second in the east as a sim. The sim did a poor job of recruiting with one average guy and 2 guys a new coach may cut. Hopefully we can get a coach in place there before they fade too much.
#3. Probably more of the same from Evansville... they look pretty good and jrakovan did a nice job bringing in some good recruits to add to his group.
#4. maybe Creighton hangs on to 4th. We are getting better by inches not yards. Creighton had a good recruiting class but only returns 6 guys and the two reclamation projects below us last season are well coached and may pass us.
#5. Bradley had a really good start to last season after a complete makeover. They "only" won 6 games in the Valley. But after a complete overhaul by CMD, 6 wins was actually really good. I would "expect" them to win more this season, probably passing one or two of those above them.
#6. Drake, I don't see alot of difference between #6 and #2. Depending on how fast Indiana State falls, and the other 4 rise... SIU "should" win the East... and Creighton might finish 6th... the middle will be pretty brutal as the East division continues to improve.

I scouted something like 30 states since I had alot of money and no clout to spend it with... so I could see alot of the potential of our recruits.

In grading each team after recruiting ends for my own reasons, I came up with (2) B's and (3) B-'s, with the sim a C- at Ind. State.
In looking it over the East may have done as well if not a tiny bit better this season than the West, possibly for the first time.
This would by IMHO of course and that may or may not mean anything. LOL

The West
#1. Mizzou State. I would think the West is still Palyak's to lose. He does a nice job recruiting, he doesn't over-reach and get busted by the big guys... keeps his classes balanced pretty well so he can just keep reloading. Mizz State has a B prestige and I think I have graded him a B+ to B- each season I have been here. He seems to know his limits, but as the conference gets stronger and we gain money and prestige, I believe he will still be "setting the pace" if not just off of it in the West.
#2. Northern Iowa. The sim actually did a really nice job of recruiting (for the sim). I could only see the potential on 2 of the recruits... but those two are keepers.
#3 and #4.. Ill State probably climbs back to 2 or 3 again. Sinatra didn't lose alot from last season, but neither did most of the other teams in the west. Western Kentucky had 4 openings while the rest return 10. However they may have a better core of players returning.
#5. Probably the Shockers. Not that they're bad, the West is just pretty tough and has alot of well coached teams who will beat up on each other.
#6. as mentioned above, ShadowKat at Garner-Webb only lost 2 guys. He brought in a couple pretty decent guys in recruiting and looks to be headed north in the standings.

Almost every team brought in at least one guy I really liked... if not 2-3. I think we are doing well overall as a conference. Filling the two open teams before they fade too far will be a big key in moving forward as a group.
