Eric Burdon is my favorite singer, but The Who was definitely a better band. As for the Animals, I prefer the 66-68 pshchedelic version (Eric Burdon, Vic Briggs, John Weider, Barry Jenkins, and Danny McCulloch, with Zoot Money and Andy Summers replacing Briggs and McCulloch)

This is the Burdon, Briggs, Weider, Jenkins, and MCulloch lineup, with Zoot Money (top ) which existed for a few months:
