Actually I just meant that saying someone else was driving up the price implied that it was a lock you'd be signing him. If another team ends up signing Phillips then you were the one driving his price up.
sounds philosophical... and i'm drinking.

I'm pretty sure desean jackson is dead... and the trainers did some weekend at bernies **** to make it look like he walked off the field

Is it me or are HBD worlds harder to fill the longer they've been around?

Is going public our best option?

I was tampering with what I think is a glitch in hbd.  if you look at trade proposals season cap breakdown it includes offers to FAs.  zero in on year 5 and you can see what teams are making plays for the elite player 5 year contracts.  then go to the financials and you can see what they have already in year 5 cap.  from there you vcan get an idea of what they are offering for stud FAs.   I pegged either dubbs - unlikely - or m-size as my competition for philips.  As FAs get scooped up it becomes way more clear of a picture.  its not an exact science but it can give you an idea as to what you are up against.

It shows that TM and dubbs like those XX,250,000 or XX,750,000 contracts - just going slightly higher for recruits than say XX,000,000.

bonus money is not included on the trape prop season breakdown - unfortunately.

I don't think all public owners are bad.  If we get 1 in 3 to stick around more than 2 seasons I consider that a success.  I'm always okay with going public.. we just need to veto trade rapage if its that outrageous

I'm sure everyone else disagreees

Philips is 28 - for the $ I'm paying him I'll be ****** if I see too much decline by the time his contract expires at age 32.

BTW - STL is winning it all in HR this season..
