As I look over my budgeting decisions for my upcoming season, I see - as always - that IFA is the greatest market inequity in this game. Yes, if you "win" in IFA you get a player who is a guaranteed all star or HOFer, maybe even an instant starter. But it requires sacrifice in most every other budget category. And I play in a world with a few guys who are determined to win IFA at all costs, so if you don't go all in, you're left with nice minor league players, guys who might someday be the 24th man on a BL roster.
But I also realize that if I skip IFA altogether, I can pretty much do anything else I want to.
I know it depends on each team's individual circumstances, but I'm really tempted to sit it out. Do you ever sit out IFA?
