Why unfair? It had to be something. I would have gone with rd before division, but nothing about their order strikes me as unfair.

It's reasonable to think you'd have a better divisional record in those 30 games.

Now the Raiders are courting Mike Shanahan. WTF is going on???

Ignoring the fiasco about the refs picking up the flag in the Dallas/Detroit game on Sunday after announcing and marking off the penalty . . . do you think there was pass interference on the disputed play?

is Mark David trying to prove how little he knows?  Mike Shanahan?? really?

My guess is the guys they want don't want them. 

By the letter of the law, both players were committing penalties.    In that situation, I wouldn't call anything on either of them.   Players "handfight" all the way down the field on virtually every pass. 

Shanahan isn't a horrible coach.   I don't want anything to do with him but they could do worse. 

What would be the fairest way to break a tie after head-to-head? Couldn't I argue that a team of equal quality would be more likely to have a better rd in a hitters park than a pitchers park assuming records are over .500? Isn't it possible that no system would be perfect?

After head to head, I'm not sure there's a fair way but I'd take run differential over division record even while understanding that a hitter's park should produce a better result.

Why did the Giants fire Perry Fewell?

I was unaware that they had but, if you go 6-10 in what was expected to be a season of playoff hopes, someone gets fired.   You can't fire all the players so it moves to the coaching staff.    If the HC is safe, it moves down the line.    Sounds like the Giants were content to stop at DC.

The Raiders have been a bit of a laughingstock for 10+ years so someone is going to point and laugh at anything they do.   gotworms pointed out the players they haven't drafted in the last 10 years in the NFL forum.    Well, they were only picking first once so other teams passed on those same guys(Russell over Calvin Johnson was monstrously bad).    So, basically, it's "HAHA!  Look at the Raiders!" until they win some games and quit making themselves a target.

ERA, OAV, WHIP- which of those stats, if you could only choose one, would you say is more accurate of your pitcher's performance?

If I could only choose one, WHIP.    Keep baserunners in the dugout, prevent runs without question.   Obvioulsy, if a guy gives up 4 homers, and that was the only baserunners, he'll have a good WHIP but still give up 4 runs.   However, that's like saying a guy can have a WHIP of 3.00 and give up zero runs.   It just doesn't really happen.
