ASK THE MIKET23 THREAD, PT. 6 Topic

I was thinking about your last post in the update thread, can you post examples of 'one arb' guys that you have had on your squad?

I might be able to do better than that.    My MG team needed a reboot.  Basically everyone got old at the same time and my minors/40 man was full of 1-arb guys.  It's most of my BL team right now(position players).     Not sure any of these guys will see a 2m per year salary:

My SS, 1B and LF are not included in that group as they are not 1-arb guys.

How did the fat Midwestern slobs do against the sleek fit West Coast team this weekend?

I think Belichick-level cheating was involved.   The outcome is under review.

Is there any disadvantage to keeping a prospect at a level where they are clobbering the competition?

I have

At high A, but now I'm wondering if AA would be better.

I'd put him with the better coach.   I don't have an issue with repeating a level.   In fact, I demoted a few players in MG to LoA because my HiA coach was crap.

How the heck does a player with a blister on his finger permanently lose points in control and health?
12/26/2015 11:55 PM
Could be low medical or an older player.

It's for sure low medical (only 14 mill as it's my first year with the team)

I'm just joking around as in real life (I know the sim is nothing like real life) how a blister could cause permanent damage?

Infection.

So... I think you may have spoken on this before. If a team that is absolutely dominating a world over a number of years, does it really make sense to trade with such a team, assuming that team is young, has a lot of depth, and has a moderate payroll?

No matter what the return, isn't sending good prospects to such a team really making your ultimate goal even more difficult?
12/28/2015 9:03 PM
I tend to shy away from dominant teams as the best way to stay dominant is to move your aging player for a slightly lesser, but still developing, player.    That frees up money to chase the high dollar IFA, stay young/cheap, and rebuild on the fly.   It's less troublesome if they're in the other league as, at worst, you have 1 seven game series to stop them.
