Here's one I didn't even realize was happening until well after the season was over.

From a recent OL team in Hilltop, here are the stats for the most-used position players.  Note the number in bold:

Yes, a 93 game hitting streak by the one and only Charlie Hickman.  Charlie entered the 9/4 AM game hitting .361.  He went 2-5 that game, starting a streak of 13 consecutive games (and 17 of 18) in which he had at least 2 hits.  His 93rd consecutive game with a hit came on 10/11 in the PM game, when he went 3-5 to raise his average to .418 (he had been as high as .424 during the streak).  It took the cookie combo of Addie Joss, Art Nehf, and Carl Weilman to hold him to an 0-4 in the next game, ending the streak.

This smashed the previous OL record of 72 games, held by '98 Willie Keeler and '85 Willie McGee.

I don't recall ever seeing anything close to a 93-game hit streak in my leagues.  That's awfully impressive.

Hickman's overall numbers for the season were great, too, but I see you missed out on setting his Performance History best by one measly RC.

As far as I can tell, the MLB record for most no-hit innings thrown by a team in one game is 12.1 (Harvey Haddix of Pittsburgh throwing all 12.1 innings in 1959).  Yesterday in my Random Captain theme league (90M cap), three pitchers combined to top that, throwing 12.2 innings of no-hit ball:

Unlike Haddix's Pirates, this team managed to win!

Hey Crazy, did your team lose the game?  Haddix lost a perfect game (walk), the no-hitter and the game in the 13th!

Ummm....it's pretty obvious from his original post....

Actually, the game didn't involve my team at all.  The owner whose team threw so many no-hit innings (and eventually won) was thaneoffife.

Costly Error Dept.

1984 Dennis Eckersley pitching against my team in an 80M theme league, second inning, leading 2-0. First two batters reach via singles, next two batters make outs. The fifth batter would have been the third out, but Eck made an error, so the bases were loaded. Still two outs, though, and still 2-0. No big deal, right?

11 straight runners get on base, 12 runs score -- all unearned!

Ok, this one has nothing to do with the SIM, but I have to share.....
I'm teaching class (University) and about 10 minutes into class, someone's computer starts playing the middle of a porn movie.
Everyone with a computer opened yelled "That wasn't me!"
Now, at least if they were playing SIM baseball, they wouldn't be making any noise. Well, unless some horribly gross injustice
occurred, such as Dennis Eckersley allowing 12 unearned runs to score with 2 outs happened.

What's the record for this sort of agony?  My 2003 prog team just lost four (4) consecutive games via walk off HR.  All of the games were against division rivals, of course.  We had a 9th inning lead in each game (1 run, 2 runs, 3 runs and 3 runs).  The pitchers who gave up the walk off HRs were not tired.

Imagine reading this at the bottom of every boxscore under the "Player of the Game" heading:

12/1 pm: Hideki Matsui hits walk-off home run
12/1 pm2: Miguel Tejada hits walk-off home run
12/2 am: Randall Simon hits walk-off home run
12/2 pm: Rondell White hits walk-off home run

Here is a weird box score - 6-3, 11 innings. So far so good. But first, it was 0-0 through ten. Then...see who the starting pitcher was on the losing side - Mr. Harvey Haddix himself - yes, THAT Harvey Haddix. AND...he pitched a 10 inning one-hitter !

In the uncapped Entire Database Pick 6 league, 1914 Dutch Leonard and 1964 Bill Henry have contributed to two combined no-hitters in a span of 31 games.  On the first they were helped by 1907 Nick Maddox and 1915 George Dumont.  2006 Jonathan Papelbon assisted on number two just 11 days later.

Sandwiched between these two no-hitters, I also had 1964 Dean Chance and 1942 Mort Cooper combine on a no-hitter in a $120M Open-style league.  Three no-hitters in an 11-day span.
