It looks like you have way too much time assigned to formations and not enough to positional practice.  Use these guidelines:

* 50-65 mins in team practice (formations) and use the leftover in positional.
* Choose 3 or 4 offensive formations and 2 or 3 defensive formations plus special teams.
* 10-12 mins max on formations
* 7 mins minimum on position practice.

This will get you started.  Once you begin to see progression you may want to tweak it a little.  There is a breakdown somewhere in the forums for which  practice area effects which attribute, you may want to track that down.
Thank you! I just did the recs in the beginning with the formations.

In Yost, I'm in recruiting. The signing period has passed and we still have a few days until recruiting is over. I look at everyone else's team and they have started progressing in terms of their individual skills.  My team has not started progressing yet. I have zero time filled for formations and the most time filled for individual skills. They still haven't started progressing. Any suggestions?

Have you played any exhibition games?  You only "practice" on game days.

Crap! That's exactly what it is

The "very aggressive" option was for ver. 2.0. In ver. 3.0, you don't have that exact option. You now have the ability to set which ever LB and as many as you feel like to the line/cover. Blitz Frequency is adjusted on the "formation" and "playbook" pages, remember these %'s work in conjunction for the total blitz %.

NOTE: There have been discrepancies with the blitz effectiveness. Essentially any player set to "line" is believed to be a blitzer. Play around with it and see if it works for you, but I have found it more effective if I set an addidional LB to "line" rather than blitz. My blitzers never made the play, so I felt it a waste.

Hope this helps.

What happens when a player switches positions.  According to the game FAQ, is says "Once you change a player's position, his ratings are permanently changed to reflect this switch."

This is all the info it provides.

Which ratings change?  Is there  a chance you could mess the player up so he won't be as good at the new position as you think he's going to be?

tommyftball, you can see what the changes will be. Just open his player info window. There should be a dropdown with the different position options. Just select whichever one and it will show his changes JUST DO NOT HIT THE CHANGE POSTITION BUTTON THAT APPEARS NEXT TO THE DROPDOWN. Exit out of his window instead.

Does anyone know if and how the GUESS equations have changed since this was posted?

Have a question, I'm seeing a trend in recruiting since 3.0 came out.  Recruits that I would normally land at DIII between 460-499 I can barley recruit now.  I just lost 5 recruits to Sim's  and I spent 3k to 5k on the 5 recruits.  How are sims now turning into a human battle for recruits.

Now before you ask, no recruit was more than 350 miles away.  I took a screen shot of the recruiting signing page showing if interested.  Just seems a little unfair and to me is making the game a turn off when I have to battle for everything.  Also these recruits were 420-480 so they weren't all premier star DIII players.  I had 13 scholarships and only landed 5 lost 8 and all 8 were to sims that is totally crazy.

Horn, I would love to help answer these for you, I just need some more info first.

What recruiting effort did you use to try and sway the recruits (i.e. what did you spend your money on and when?)
Did all 8 have 3 SIMs each on them?
How quickly in the recruiting process did you try to knock the SIMs off?
What was your opening recruiting effort on each player?

Not going to worry about it, thanks though. I have decided to stop playing.  The new format has no appeal to me and in all actuality it's not even true to real college recruiting which allows for recruits to be recruited at any age per say and attend official visits and non official visits way before their senior seasons end.  Recruiting should be fair to all involved not having to compete against sims that already have a recruit green at 1201pm on the first day.  We should be able to recruit prior and attempt to get greens also to make it fair and balanced.

3.0 has really turned me off and I have lost the desire to play, love the soccer though so I'll still be there.  Thanks!!

As a newb at GD, I'm taking the advice here to heart.  Forgive my question if it's elementary.

Recruiting opened at 12:01 and I sent AC Scouting on about a dozen potentials.  When should I see reports back?  Will reports come in all at the same time, or will they be staggered?

Thanks for your help.

The first day of recruiting is a 24 hour cycle so you won't see reports or responses until 12:01ish the next day.  Then after that it's every 3 hours, so updates/responses will be at 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, etc...
