the big question is how 2-3-4 line up....also, MN, IL and WI are a coin toss.....here is my thought.....Big 10: #1 Penn St 2) ND 3) Oh St 4) MI 5) MIN 6) IL 7) WI 8) Purdue 9) Iowa
Here is my 1st thought of how it would look: 1 threw 4 play each other.....then 5 threw 9 play each other.....start with 1vs4, 1vs3, 1vs2, 1vs1......2 vs3, 2vs4,2vs1, 2vs2.....3th week 3v4, 4th week 3vs3, 4vs4.....same thing for the 5 threw 9.....only issue is...ACC only has 8 coaches
I say we hold off on the ranking until later on, when we can take a look at the roster more accurately. For example, my stud QB is going to graduate by the time the challenge is on, and who knows what kind of QB I will have starting.
I think it will be too hard and way too subjective to take into account how a roster may look a couple of seasons away. One thing we maybe can do is wait until early entries declare and then do final standings....I would be okay with that. Besides, DKC can reload faster than anyone else......lol!
I thought about waiting until the regular season is over before scheduling opponents, but if someone opts out and the other coach has to take more sim coached teams for their schedule, that could ruin a season with a low SOS.
Another thing that DKC pointed out is that if we do schedule all these tough games, it will could potentially cost our conferences a shot in the NC games because likely nobody will be able to run the gauntlet of beating 4-6 top20 teams.
Here is my proposal:
Each conference votes on ranking their own conference, majority rules- conference champion should have to be ranked first. The votes for each conference will be taken after early entries declare. I say we schedule at most 3 games and maybe only 2 per team between conferences. I really do not want to play Penn St., Notre Dame, Ohio State, amd Michigan and then turn around and play a tough conference schedule- with some bad luck you could start out 1-4 or 0-5....talk about a season killer!
**********EDITED If it is 2 games, #1 rank plays the top 2 from the other conference. So if you are ranked #4, you play the 3rd and 4th ranked teams and if ranked 6th, you play the 5th and 6th ranked teams from the other conference. I say go with 2 games only. *******
Let's hear what everyone else has to say and then vote on the proposals.
