Let someone else have Detroit. I'm changing over to San Jose to have some friendly division rivalry with Chazster. Someone else can have Detroit, a beloved franchise for hardcore Wingmen!

I'd like to get in on this one, and since the Detroit Red Wings franchise has become available, I'll join with them.

I'll jump in,
84/85 I believe has enough players ,so no 70s scrubs have to used ??
I think there are 21 teams in 79-80 and 21 teams in 84-85. I prefer the older players but I'll try the concept regardless.

i think 79-80 would be a great place to start.  We will also need to use ave mlers or the league will be too high scoring

im in with the islanders.... but have some questions..... first how is the first years draft decided?.... i'm i little confused on the coins.... is it wining %+  wins + traded coins? (ex. if i win 50% of my games and win 41 games do i get 91 coins and if i have traded for 10 more coins and have 10 from the last year do i get 110 coins? and a maximum of 50 coins added via trade or carry over so 91+50 max?).... if i have 23 players under contract and have the first overall selection, do i fall in the draft due to penalty? can we buy players out (maybe the max coins per year?).... if a player is on ir and counts towards seasons than i could have more players under contract than the actual number of players on my roster that year.... do i get a penalty for that? ......what happens if i lose out on bidding but don't have a full roster?

starting in 79/80 is great ,but not enough players?,and ave mlers throws off the real concept too many penalties?,perhaps scrubs 500,000 or lower from those who just retired in the NHL,not arguing with you cause I am sure who have played in more leagues then I,just asking,Thanks

You are right the 1980 pool does not have enough players to go around. The initial season will be 1980 with players from the 1970 pool added to fill out the league. From that point it will be a random rookie draft. What that adds to the dimension is that you don't know what is available each draft season until the available players list is published. After the inagural season there should be enough players to go around.

Oh and with the tin foil, I don't think the Hanson Brothers are available to play in this league, but if they are, I'm sending someone out to see if I can get them under contract. :-)
