$9000 into a recruit at DII and still the SIM is hanging on.  This was supposed to be fixed at DII and DIII.  Obviously the SIMs didn't get the memo.

grindi is the recruit considering you as well ?

That's weird.  Usually for a low-mid prestige school, it takes me about 4-6k to knock off a SIM.

How far away are you from the recruit?

I ask, because if he's over 360 miles from you, that's really not excessive.  Keep that in mind.

Now, if he's within 180 miles, that's ridiculous.

I was using yatzr's tool and recruiting against a SIM and spent a ton trying to knock him off.. Came to find out that it wasn't a SIM at all, it was a coach who had just picked up that team and I hadn't updated the tool with the latest coaches info.

Don't make that mistake.. :)

Or be like me, and try to recruit against a Div2 coach when you're at Div3.  I thought it was a Div3 school I was recruiting against and thinking "man, this guy is dropping a ton of money into this guy."

Moron of the year there...

If a single SIM is originally considering the recruit, it's much more expensive to knock that SIM off - I'd estimate at least double what it costs when there are 3 SIMs on. For example, at a DI BCS non-elite, I just knocked 3 BCS SIMs off a local recruit for $9k, but a single BCS SIM took almost $19k.

I dropped 13K to get rid of a single Sim at DII. Was quite odd

assuming the distance is not outside of 360 miles, it could be a bug.  In my years of playing GD, I've experience the following in which I was unable to knock off a sim until I spent a ridiculous amount.  Both times I was at established elites in DIA.  Both times, I couldn't knock off the sim until I spent close to $30000.  Mind you, I sent a bunch of campus visits all at once in case you're wondering.  This happened to me on two separate occasions.

How many cycles did it take you to get to $9K? The GUESS calendar says Heisman recruiting started on the 5th. If you're still fighting a SIM 5 days after recruiting started, that might be your problem right there...

The GUESS calendar is "off" by a bit last time I checked.

Yep, off by two days - last time there was a site-wide upgrade, it threw off my calendars and it's too much work (and I'm too lazy) to go in and re-enter everything. :)

At D2, I don't find that to be overly excessive.  It is on the high side, but I use the rule of 2X the allotted recruiting $ to guarantee a knockoff of a SIM.  Distance does matter as mentioned above.
