Still applies.    If I don't want to join ABU because they always have 15 openings but I do want to join More Cowbell because I think that was a funny skit, I'm not joining ABU because it's one of the two available worlds.    I'll wait.    That's not good for business.
I think it's bad for business to have worlds sitting unrolled for over a month.  If you wanted to wait for more cowbell to come up, you would wait.  If you didn't care what world you join, why not force you into ABU or the other one?  OK make it three.

171 openings now.  This number just keeps growing.  This site just can't sit on their hands here.  Something needs to be done to get this logjam moving.

Goes back to my post about good worlds/pro-active commish.   While it was only 4, I was shocked to have that many(100% retention the previous season).   Fortunately, we had three on the waitlist from the previous season so it wasn't that big of a deal but. had I waited until the last minute, I'd have been scrambling for an owner.

And I disagree about forcing owners(or attempting to force) into signing up for worlds by limiting availability.

7 worlds have rolled in the last 7 days.

Counting worlds with 8-10 openings really inflates the "total openings" number.   These worlds are problems.  The problem isn't sitewide.

7 worlds in the last 7 days is pretty poor. We used to roll almost 3 per day.

With 169 openings right now, and 5 more worlds by the end of tomorrow, there's a fair chance we'll hit 200 openings. Neat.
10/8/2012 1:34 PM
There are about 170 worlds.   Simple math says a world should roll every other day, more or less.
10/8/2012 1:35 PM
So, if we "used to roll almost 3 per day", we had a lot of days where none rolled.

You can't pick a slow period, one that HAPPENS EVERY YEAR AT THE SAME TIME, and say "Wow.  Things are horrible right!!"

I'm pretty sure a season lasts about 3 months, not a full year. 170 worlds over 90 days would average about 2 worlds per day, not 1 every other day.

But maybe my simple math is different from yours.

Yeah, your math is off.    Think it out.   I'll help.  All worlds last about 90 days.

I'll help a little more.  All worlds don't roll on the same day.    365 days in a year.   170 worlds.    Use a calculator if necessary.

Hehe.  My math is crap too.   4 rolls per year per league.   680 rollovers with perfect rollover.   Just under 2 a day, on average, would be about right.

I claim dibs on being the first ever to get Mike to admit he was wrong about something!

Didn't say I was wrong.  I said my math is just as crappy as yours.

My RECOLLECTION of almost 3 per day was off.

My MATH of about 2 per day was dead nuts on.

Your math, of about 1 every other day, was nowhere near as superior as mine.

Please, admit you were wrong for once. You can do it. Its very therapeutic.
