State of Birth $100 mil (FULL) Topic

Why do we need to wait for the 2012 players?
I'm fine with either $110M or $100, but anything more than 6/3 AAA average or worse and I'm probably out.

Ok I am fine with the way it was also...No changes

I don't really like changing rules mid stream, so let's leave this league as is, & I can run it again after this season is complete & make salary cap adjustments if need be.

I really want every team to be competitive & wanted to try a true State of Birth league by not combining so many states as in the past other than the 3 listed in the forum (Carolinas/Virginias & Maryland/DC).

Sounds good! I'm in with Louisiana.

I'll take Nebraska, with original rules.  I hate AAA in this theme and I'm not sure I'd stay with Nebraska if you raised the cap to $110M.

Hey richabbs, rules are not changing for this season.  Even at $100 million. Nebraska will be challenging with Bob Gibson & Pete Alexander!

I was born in New Jersey (no laughing allowed!) but have lived in Maryland the last 18 years. I will try it with a NJ team.

New Jersey may have the best OF in this theme!

I would love to have the Cali AL players please

Probably the 2nd best OF there mussopini23.  WELCOME!!

yeah, saw that, I especially have love for my Italian brother Dimaggio!!

Ted Williams, Joe Dimaggio, Harry Heilman, etc. See why the cap is $100 mil?

Why IS the cap 100M? The small cap is prohibiting me from using my states BEST players, cuz their Salaries are just TOO High!  No Hornsby, No Mathews, NO Robinson, No Flood, NO Banks, NO Speaker, NO Adams, NO Berkman, NO Cash --- This Low cap is DEFINITELY watering down my team, it will surely be only a shell of what it could be!!  Instead of the Lone Star state, it might as well be the NO NAME state, named after the weak players I will be forced to use to get under this cap!   If we dont get started soon, I might loose interest & have to BAIL, to keep from having to WASTE my hard earned Money?!  I think you should put LOW CAP version or VERY Average Joes in the League Title somewhere?  Im SURE every state could raise their cap 20M more & still keep the league parity INTACT!

100M is not in any way a low cap. In fact, it's the highest cap I'll play at. To me, making hard choices is more fun than just selecting expensive players.

I stated in the rules that this league would NOT start until the 2012 players are released which is about 2 weeks away.  I have my Wisconsin team ready to enter & start the league in which I even had to make cuts to that roster in order to make it under $100 mil.  I still have 1908 Addie Joss, 1930 Al Simmons, and a stellar bullpen.  The cuts I had to make were at 3B where I couldn't afford both Lave Cross & Ken Keltner.  Would my team be a little better at $110 mil YES, but there is no way this team would compete with the CA, PA, NY, TX, OH, IL teams that are loaded at every position!
