Belmont Abbey made the long trip to Seattle and came away with a convincing win. I'm convinced he has distro set at 0 for all his guys. Just a total team effort. St Marys TX do-everything guy H Baker hit a runner with 3 seconds left to put their game in OT. Then C Collings hit a 3 with 2 min to play in OT to put UofSciences up and they held St Marys TX scoreless the final 3 of the extra period to hang onto an upset in front of a packed house. Harding lost one from the FT line earlier in the tournament, now has won one from the FT line in round 3 of the tournament by going 30-34 in a win at home over NE St.

Belmont Abbey would clinch the Yarnell championship in its first appearance with a win in either of its final two games.

definitely did not see my team beating st. marys.  Thought for sure I would lose there.  I guess home cookin' and getting alumni ref's does pay off sometimes.

Congrats to Belmont Abbey in winning the Yarnell Invitational on his first invite. Hopefully they'll experience a letdown when they come to Searcy to play Harding tonight in a meaningless game. Everyone check out the gameflow in the St Marys / Seattle game last night. Helluva game won in OT by 1 point.

To show how tough the Yarnell is, here is the Preseason Rankings again:

Preseason rankings of Yarnell participants
#2 Seattle
#9 Harding
#11 Northeastern St.
#12 St. Mary's TX
#20 Belmont Abbey

Like seasons past, I expect all 6 teams will be in the NT and be contenders. Last season we had an all-Yarnell national championship.

And St Marys TX involved in each game.

Congrats again to Belmont Abbey in winning the Yarnell Invitational on his first invite.

Not to take anything away from crashdive, for yet another Yarnell more than half of the coaches in the tournament can point to one shot, one circumstance, or one game that could've made the outcome of this tournament different. Personally, I point to my  game with mduncanhogs and St Marys where his team went all Kiki Vandeweghe on me and hit 24 of 25 FTs to beat me. That cost me a shot at back-to-back Yarnell titles. Speaking of St Marys... how many OTs you play in this tournament mduncanhogs?

I believe we played 4 OT periods in the tourney over 3 straight games. Went 2-1 in those games. This team is clearly the Cardiac Kids.

Congrats on the Yarnell title crash! And sorry my guys went all Steve Nash on you from the charity stripe hacker!

Looking forward to another Yarnell next season.
