Who wins this recruiting battle? Topic

Equal distance and prestige

Team A
81 Calls
33 Scouts
33 HV
20 CV

Team B
100 Letters
111 Calls
21Scouts
80 HV
20 Promised Minutes

A fellow coach was kind of enough to share information on a recent recruiting battle.
Team A was the first school the recruit considered

Thoughts?

I'd guess B.

Team B, unless Team A was on him multiple days in advance.

I'd guess A, but obviously it depends on what you're using for the HV/CV ratio.

I use 2.5 as a generic number.  Doing so does this:

Team A
81 Calls
33 Scouts
83 HV

Team B
100 Letters
111 Calls
21Scouts
80 HV
20 Promised Minutes

I think:

3 HV and 12 evals > 100 letters + 30 calls + 20 min

Obviously if the HV/CV ratio is closer to 2 than 2.5, B probably wins.

equal distance and prestige tells nothing without the distance. What distance?

Why would distance matter when he gave you the efforts put in by both coaches.

I think A won by just a tiny bit.

Man that is close.....I think B wins.  Given isack's analysis I think he undervalues $1800 of letters and calls.

T, sorry I looked at the original post wrong, lol
I was judging $ not effort.

100 miles

Why make that many calls or send that many letters? isnt it more value to just put that money into hv and/or cv?

Kansas or Depaul?
If A+ Kansas... doesn't matter
If Depaul... was some of the scouting used to get the kid to talk to you?

Jeebus, that's a lot of recruiting action.  Is this how it goes in the BCS conferences?

DePaul

Maybe.  I think it depends if the evals were all used to pull down.  I think people significantly underestimate same-level evals.

I think one unknown factor is going to be how much effort was burned by each to get the recruit to talk to them.
Usually there are more facts to complicate these deals than meets the eye.
