I can say with confidence that the Brewers will have no trouble making it under the cap.

Gary Sheffield, Padres
That solves me trying to squeeze him onto my team while getting under the cap...
I have to call myself out for being obsessed with the guy. Not only did I use him last leg with the Reds, I protected him OVER Caminiti when I had the Padres many legs ago. We all have our weaknesses, I guess.

I thought long and hard about trying Caminiti at short and Sheffield at 3B, but decided against it...  I might regret it after Young goes .228/.295/.343

David Wright - NYM
10/25/2012 6:04 PM
First time Wright has lasted this long since Leg 28, when schwarze picked him for the Indians. schwarze also picked him in Round Two for the Dodgers in Leg 27. Combined with marlowe's pick for the Indians here, that's all 3 times that Wright has not played for the Mets in the last 14 legs.

After looking at McGee's stats, you could have done a lot worse.  He really had a great 2012 season.
Yeah, Sin, I thought so too, I was debating what to do with that pick, I pretty much got my "need" positions, but wanted a solid LH reliever, & was super surprised to see him & those stats.

Manny Ramirez, Indians
10/25/2012 6:56 PM (edited)
Third time Manny has lasted until Round Three of the draft, and one fo those times (Leg 32 for ff09) he made it all the way thorugh without being drafted.  9 of 14 legs he's been protected as one of the Indians first 5, and the other two legs he was drafted in Round 1.

All that notwithstanding, Stargell was the one I wanted...

Hideo Nomo-Dodgers to the Fish
10/25/2012 7:12 PM
Mariners select Jacob Ellsbury, Boston
10/25/2012 7:25 PM
Second time Nomo has lasted this long, and hasn't ever slipped through.  8 out of 13 legs he's been drafted in Round Two.

Yeah, Stargell's lefty power bat would have fit well with Sosa and Lee.
