Decade Comparioson, Was fun while it lasted Topic

We just finishing the 1977/87/97/07 season, and are looking for a few owners to pick up some teams, to draft for the 1978/1988/1998/2008 season

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Decade Comparison League.
  est 1970/1980/1990/2000

20 teams, using the format  of 2 divisions in each league, 5 teams in each division, only division winners make playoffs.

When you sign up, you will choose which decade you want to play in.  Each decade will have its own draft and will be it's own division.  We will start in the "0" year of each decade.  For example, the 1970's division's initial draft will be using 1970's players (the season, not the decade), then year two will progress to 1971, etc.

NL East:  1970's
NL West:  1980's
AL East:  1990's
AL West:  2000's

The initial drafts:  Once we fill up, I will set up each of the 4 drafts.  The 7 teams will then be put in random order and will draft snake style 1-7, 7-1, 1-7, etc. for 27 rounds.  There will be no need for AAA as everyone will be able to draft plenty of IP's and PA's with only 7 teams drafting from each year.  The drafts will be 3 rounds per day on the clock, using 1/2 hour increments.  Any player who is hurt in the initial year will NOT be eligible to be drafted.  For example a player has a 1969 season and a 1971 season, but no 1970 season.  This player will be a "rookie" in 1971.  We will then have a 28th round to draft a stadium (must be one in use during your decade).

Offseason:  After the first season, everyone will post their keepers.  You can keep as many or as few as you like, up to 25, with unlimited IR which do not count against your 25 keepers.  There will be no add/drop afterwards, so a little strategy will come into play as you must decide who to drop if you want to target a certain # of rookies.  Anyone not kept goes back into the draft pool.

Season 2 draft and beyond:  Each of the 4 divisions will then draft from their respective "1" season (1971, 1981, 1991, 2001).  This will not be snake style, but will draft 1-7, 1-7, 1-7, etc. based on the inverse of the previous season, so the division winners will draft last each round.  Tiebreaker of head to head will be used to break ties.  Better head to head record = better pick in round 1 and all odd numbered rounds.  Worst head to head record will have better pick in even numbered rounds.

Other notes:
YES to DH for all divisions/leagues.
YES to AAA (2 players, manual selection.  CAN'T use the fictional players that get generated for you but CAN use your 2 AAA guys)
NO to Waiver Wire
No Salary Cap
YES to trades (subject to Veto) (only within division/decade)
NO to trading of draft picks in season, but YES to trading picks during draft (for players and/or picks) but ONLY in current draft, also subject to veto.
YES to Clones (sort of but not really).  For example, Greg Maddux may be drafted in 1990 and 2000, but can't be drafted or used 2x in 1990.
NO to Interleague Play
YES you may have a maximum of 2 teams in here if you'd like (but must be in different leagues, so 1 from 70's or 80's and 1 from 90's or 2000's)

- you can use any stadium that was in use during your decade, that is not already in use during said decade - (ie, there can be a fenway park in each decade, but cannot be two fenways in one decade)

- name your team referencing it's location - it can be witty, funny, serious, city, state, area, town near it, whatever, as long as it make a thinnly veiled reference
