Interesting that only 1 winner of the Yarnell has won the NC (and that was in the tournament's first season), but 6 winners have been runner up and 3 Yarnell runners up have won the NC.
Thus far, Bellarmine is the only school to claim the 'Triple Crown of HD', winning the NT ('42), Yarnell ('42), and Derby City ('60 and '62)  titles.   They also have a PIT title ('57)  for good measure.

Concord is close..winning the NT in '41 and this season's Derby City. They've been RU in the Yarnell 3 times.

Harding won the NT in '43 and the Yarnell in '44, 56' and '60. They can't compete in the Derby City because the two tournaments are run simutaneously.

There's also the Yam Jam tournament, in which neither Harding nor Bellarmine can compete.

Here's the Tie-breaker rules... (I stated long time ago that I would use the Arkansas Activities Association Tie-breaker rules)

Rule 5. BASKETBALL TIEBREAKER RULE - ALL CLASSES
A. If two teams are tied from regular season conference play,
tiebreaker procedures will be:
1. Head to head in regular season conference play.
2. If the two teams have split, margin of victory between the
two teams, with a maximum of 10 points per game.
3. If the two teams are still tied, all winning conference
game points, with a maximum of 10 points per game.
4. Forfeited games. Offended teams shall receive 10
points when tabulating the sum of the winning margins
for breaking conference ties.
5. If the two teams are still tied, a coin flip by the Arkansas
Activities Association's Executive Director will decide
seeding.
B. If three teams are in a three-way tie from regular season
conference play, tie breaker procedures will be: Head-tohead
competition. If one team has been defeated by one of
the other teams twice, they would be eliminated. The two
remaining teams would go to step two listed above for two
teams that are tied. If step two does not break the tie, step
three would follow, then step four.
C. If three teams are tied and each team has split (or a perfect
triangle), tiebreaker procedures will be: Margin of victory in
all conference games, with a maximum of 10 points per
game.
D. After tabulating the sum of the winning margins, all teams
except the two with the greater sum shall be eliminated and
the selection process shall begin again with paragraph (A).
E. If four or more teams were tied, the margin of victory in all
conference games would be used, with a maximum of 10
points per game. Head-to-head competition would decide
the two teams with the most points. If these teams had
split victories, margin of victory between the two teams,
with a maximum of 10 points per game.
F. If the two teams remain tied, the team with the most total
points would receive the place for the first team (if both tied
with the same number of points, a coin toss would be used
to decide the first team). This procedure would continue
until all places were filled.

Since 4 teams are tied, we go straight to E.

Sum of winning margins (chopped at 10)
Cal St Stanislaus 10 + 10 + 5 = 25
Longwood 4 + 10 + 10 = 24
St Marys TX 1+ 10 + 10 = 21
Harding 2 + 1 + 2 = 5

Head-2-Head
Cal St Stanislaus beat Longwood

Champ: Cal St Stanislaus
Runner-up: Longwood

Who saw that coming?

Interesting tie-breaker system!

Using the system I've adopted for the Derby City, the finish would've been 1) Harding; 2) Stanislus; 3) St. Mary's 4) Longwood

Well done zagman. Good to see my upperclassman in good hands.
