im at a div 2 (A) school
so recruiting just started and i targeted one player that i really wanted, and did what i normally do to get him to consider in the first cycle

then after that cycle, i see he is considering a div 3 (C) school

How on earth would a DIV 3 team with a (C) level get a Drop down for Div 2 so early? it is human coached school but it makes no sense. is something broken??

Maybe the school has six open scholarships and he's spending all his money on this one kid? Though it is pretty crazy a C prestige DIII school could be beating an A prestige DII school in a recruiting battle.

even if he was, i could easily outspend him 10-1 based on how much money he likely has.

he is also in the top 20 players on the div 2 recruit list based on my results

How close to the school is the recruit?

It's probably a brand new coach that doesn't know he shouldn't be going after players at that level.

I don't necessarily think that's the issue, Weena, what's interesting is how a C prestige DIII school somehow managed to pull down a kid this talented.  You'd expect this kid to be rejecting the DIII school's phone calls, not actively considering the school as a serious option.

There are only a handful of D3 C prestige, human coached teams in Knight that have recruits considering them right now.  Of those, the highest rated player I saw was a 454 rated SF with 99 DUR.

I'm guessing it's actually a D2 C prestige school and just an oversight on the OP's behalf.

the player is rated 571 and has 2 years remaining is 20th on my div 2 list.

heck i sent him a evaluation and it stated he could possibly be signed by the right div 2 school but likely to div 1
and a div 3 guy is somehow locked in on him

Where he signs and all American status don't mean much.

The recruit in question is a Juco and is 40 miles away for him. So it's not like that much effort was necessary for him.

he was top 20 on the div 2 list. and iv put alot into him and he wont even talk to me .. that is loco, if i knew i could recruit a kid at div 3 that a div 2 school with A couldnt get over me i would be recruiting alot differently

The key here is that he is a JUCO.  That said, it's pretty hilarious.  He shows up as a D-1 recruit for me.

I offered him a starting spot and guaranteed minutes and he blew me off as such: Coach, I appreciate you wanting to talk about playing time and all, but you have a lot more selling to do before I see myself at Oklahoma St. next season. David Yarnell
