I'm all set

Its funny, I didn't notice I was bringing in two guys from the same high school till I had offered them both a scholarship.  Too bad the game didn't just make them twin brothers.

I'd do it if my team didn't suck and I wasn't already in your conference.

Final Score Concordia (WI) 108 Neumann 95
Recap
Concordia raced out to an early 13-5 lead in the opening 6 minutes, before Neumann was able to go on an 11-2 run to take the lead.  From that point the first half remained even until the final minute when Neumann used a 7-1 run to take a 7 point lead into halftime.  In the 2nd half, the game continued to be a very much back and forth for the first 10 minutes, until Concordia started to pull away and opened a 78-67 lead with 7:45 left in the game.  Neumann slowly chipped away at the lead and scored the tying basket with 15 seconds left in the 2nd half to force overtime.  In overtime, Concordia scored 14 unanswered points in the first 3 minutes to put the game away.

James Loh of Concordia was hands down the Player of the Game going 11 of 19 from the field and 10 of 16 from the free throw line for 32 points.  Loh also dished out 7 assists and hand 7 steals.

For Neumann, their best player was Paul Davis who was 6 of 11 from the field and 2 of 5 from the free throw line for 15 points.  Davis also had 5 rebounds.

Current Standings:

1) Concorida 1-0 (+13)
2T) Eureka 0-0
2T) John Carroll 0-0
2T) Northland 0-0
5) Neumann 0-1 (-13)

Next game is 5/17, Eureka at Neumann
Eureka will be looking to get out to a good start with a win, and Neumann will be hoping to bounce back from a defeat in their first game.

Eureka 86 Neumann 59
Recap
Neumann jumped out to a quick 13-8 lead in the first four minutes of the game, after that Eureka lead the rest of the way.  With six minutes left in the first half, Eureka lead 29-24, but closed the first half on a 17-6 run to take a 46-30 lead into halftime.  The second half was the same as the final six minutes of the first half as Eureka cruised to victory with Neumann never getting closer than 13.  The key to this game, was that Neumann could not stop Eureka, while Eureka was able to shut down Neumann.  Eureka shot 55% from the field on the game while Neumann only shot 36% and relied too heavily on the 3 ball going 11 for 28 from behind the line.

The game named Bradford Davis of Eureka as player of the game, and yes, he had 19 points, but the real player of the game was Charles Mattera off the bench for Eureka.  Mattera had 18 points and 12 rebounds on 7 of 12 shooting in only 20 minutes.

For Neumann, their best player was Douglas Holbert who had 15 points on 6 of 13 shooting in 21 minutes.

Current Standings:

1) Eureka 1-0 (+20)
2) Concorida 1-0 (+13)
3T) John Carroll 0-0
3T) Northland 0-0
5) Neumann 0-2 (-33)

Next game is 5/18, Neumann at #24 Northland
Being the coach of Neumann, the only question I have for this game is whether I can cover the 32 point spread.  Northland would like to open this tournament with a good first game, and put the pressure on Eureka to continue to perform well.  And don't forget, John Carroll is still waiting in the wings and has yet to play a game.

John Carroll 84 Northland 74

Recap
Close game in the first half. Both teams taking a 6 point lead at one point. Northland had a 6 point lead heading into the 2nd half. It seemed as though Northland would run away with it as they took a 10 point right out of the break. John Carroll pulled together and started chipping away at the lead until they finally were on top with 9 minutes remaining. Northland was unable to regain the lead the rest of the game as John Carroll pulled away. Every time it seemed that Northland was coming back John Carroll would answer and increase their lead.

Both teams shot well, Northland going 50% and John Carroll going 52%.The key for the John Carroll victory was turnovers. The Blue Streaks' press seemed to trouble the Lumberjacks, causing 21 turnovers. John Carroll had 10. The turnovers forced led to 24 POT for John Carroll.

John Graves of John Carroll was awarded player of the game and I would have to agree. He went 8-16 from the field (2-4 from 3), 10-10 from the FT line adding up to 28 points. John also had 4 assists.

For Northland it would have to be Christopher Gorden, who scored 16 points of 6-12 shooting.

Current Standings (same as before):
1) Eureka 1-0 (+20)
2) Concorida 1-0 (+13)
3) John Carroll 1-0 (+10)
4) Northland 1-1 (-4)
5) Neumann 0-3 (-39)
