I would nominate Sjurat current coach at NCState.  He has built programs at Adams and now NCState and has 497 wins.

snake liked to stir things up a LOT and received a lifetime ban from GD some time ago, sjurat's post was done in jest.
What was the ban for?  He was an ***, but a lifetime ban? I say we lift it just so we can ban him again when we remember!

Thank you sjurat, for ruining my thread! We should give you a lifetime ban as well lol

I only play in one world (Leahy).  The first three coaches that come to mind are below...

Hawkfan1992 (Iowa): he coaches a non-elite team in a conference with 4 elites (Michigan, ND, Ohio St, Penn St) and consistently competes for the conference title every year.  He is a tough recruiter and great game-planner.

Djarelt (Cincinnati): won a national championship at non-BCS Cincinnati, and has multiple Big East championships.  One of the best game-planners I've ever coached against.  Regularly upsets elite teams in OOC games.  Watch out when he gets his hands on an elite program!

Aaronbrown99 (Oregon/Alabama): Had 7 consecutive top-10 seasons with non-elite Oregon and won 6 conference championships in that time (most of them vs. USC).  Then took over a 4-9 Alabama team that was in horrible shape and got them rolling immediately.

If snake were still here, the forum would be jumping!! D1AA in Camp would be stingray at Richmond with 7 titles. He was the first coach that I know of that went with the 1 big recruiting class every 4 years tactic.......

I'll 2nd the nomination for Stingray. I've played in the same conference as Stingray for 39 straight seasons and if it wasn't for him, I'd have a few more title's to my name. But unfortunately, he's only "active" for a few more days.

Please vote for who you think is the best "Active" coach based off your experiences playing against them. Will let the voting commence for one week then send the winner a prize!...Just kidding you get an honorary mention on the forums lol
