Thanks sgsmith.  I figured the Twins had to be up there.  They just don't have a large number of protectable players.  And the ones they have are overwhelming obvious.
Santana and Puckett have been exposed once each; Knoblauch 5 times.  Knoblauch even went unclaimed until Round 3 of the draft one time.

Dang!  Based on schwarze's "Rule V History" post I was counting on picking 6th.  That list included best and worst seasons, though.  Throw 'em out and the White Sox pick moves to 10th!  I'm pretty sure no other team has such a big difference.

Also: I haven't tried to look it up yet myself: does anybody remember somebody having the first pick in both franchise and player drafts, as Disco has here?
I double checked, and the reason for this is that the Best/Worst seasons for the White Sox works out to be 45.4% (147-177).  And since they have so few seasons anyway, removing that 45.4% really bumped them up.
Yep. That's the math.  I never doubted it was right, but I did check to see what was going on.

And now we know that the Sox' 58-104 season (or whatever it was) cost me LA's Kevin Brown.

Marichal is the 21st ranked Giant pitcher in this theme. He'll give you a pile of innings but they're average innings.

I'll let alleyviper post his stats, but I recall him doing fairly well for me last leg.  I've used this Marichal in other leagues and he always does fairly well for me.

I hope he does well for you - I didn't let him go unprotected because I thought he'd stink, but rather because I just wanted to try something a bit different this leg.  Oh, and because I think Mike Krukow will be an ace for me...

In the nine seasons I've been in this league, '69 Marichal has posted ERAs ranging from 2.82 to a high of 4.08, only twice posting an ERA at 4+. I'd say that's pretty darn good.

Interestingly, Marichal has once posted an ERA of 5+: tridentric either mistakenly or sneakily used '66 Marichal several seasons ago, and nobody caught it.

First time *not* exposed:

Mark McGwire, Athletics
Johnny Damon, Royals
Justin Upton, Diamondbacks

Also, holy cow is this true? Oakland has never protected McGwire?

Big-Mac-at-second-base fad is pretty new.

Unprotected in the previous 15 drafts, here's the number of times he's been drafted in Round One:  1.

Even ignoring that I'm surprised there haven't been a few people willing to play Mac or Giambi in the outfield.

See also: John Olerud and Carlos Delgado.

Looks like the sim gods didn't look kindly on tridentric trying to slip one by us.  Embarrassed I didn't catch that one, though it isn't possible now that I use the season filters in the theme wizard.

Those are very good numbers for Marichal in this theme.  I didn't have those when making my selection, just his numbers in open leagues.  Out of curiosity, now that I've taken Norris over Marichal, what are Mike's numbers in this theme?  I have a feeling I won't like the answer...

My off year selection of Marichal was purely accidental. Karma taught me a lesson finishing 23 games out.

Philadelphia's Schilling is the second player taken who has never been exposed before. Not the last.  It's tempting to take another, but the White Sox SP need is too great:

Kevin Appier, Royals.

I had Mike Norris and he was ripe......stinky
But I still like him
