dh, the evals are a great read so far, and we can all tell you are putting in some serious time to do them, fills the void left by Vance not doing them this time, he spoiled us the last two seasons, and now you are keeping the bar pretty high as well.
As an FYI when you look at my team, I'm still doing some fine tuning but I'm 99% sure that at this point I'm playing D Will at PG and using an undrafted guy with 4-point usage, an efg near 50, D over 65 and an ast% over 35 as his backup. Given my plan at PG I've decided to use the 6-point usage West at SG for 38mpg and a Korver with an efg of at least 58% and a D of 50 or more will play the other 10mpg. Still have not made up my mind if I'm going to use the $5mill 12-13 season (the one I drafted obviously) or take the $2 mill season and use the remaining money to lock down more boards and D, sure would have liked to have had a shot at Faried or Drummond (thanks again tar).
If I keep the full Korver then Rodman plays 11mpg at PF, if I do that then Korver will be my only backup at both SG and SF, assuring that a 90D guy stays on the floor at all times. 99% sure I'll use the 67% efg 90D less rebounding 32mpg season of Chandler, leaving 4-5 minutes a game where Daughery plays PF with Sabonis at C.
So, if I go with the $5mill Korver that leaves me with an 8-man rotation, just enough minutes to cover everything, but I've never tried to run with only 8 and it worries me a little bit. No I don't have a crazy high ast% like Logain, but I'll have around 20% from my 3 bigs, and at least 34% from my PG.
In the end this becomes a team built to maximize my fourth round pick in West. With bigs that all have an efg from 56.5-67, over 450 threes including a guy that will hit 200 or so at 45%+ , a solid ast%, and above ave rebounding that includes the Worm. Also three guys and over 110 mpg of 90D and only one guy under 50D. My paint shots will come at a very high% and a majority of my threes will as well. Yes, West will likely shoot me out of a few games, but he'll also draw tons of fouls and hit the FTA's. No he's not on the MJ, Kobe, Wade, LeBron level, but IMO this is a solid approach to get the most out of what he brings to the table, and the more I look at and dig into the sim results I'm pretty convinced that a team needs at least one 6-point usage guy, even if the efg is just below average for this league.
