I posed these questions because, in the past I read the high ast% teams won alot of regular season games, but lost deep in the playoffs when they were up against strong defensive teams. this must have been because strong def teams neutralize the assist bump, and that exposes their weak rebounding and TOs.
I joined a no-defense theme league (all players under 50 def), figuring that no team would be able to neutralize my teams fg% bump.
I've set my lineups depths to have pretty much 145-155 assist% at any given moment. my players are shooting lights out. however, my guys are not doing a good job of stopping anyone, and i'm sitting at around .500 after 20 games.
I think in a no-defense league, it would have been a better strategy to focus on minimizing TO's when I drafted my team. oh well
