Carr is probably THE most successful of that bunch.

Probably?

Bortles will surprise a lot of people this season.

He barely won the job over Chad Henne. The Bortles surprise might be that he still starting in week 6.
8/31/2017 7:06 AM
he didn't say what the surprise would be, just that he'd surprise people.

I used the word "surprise" because I assumed you would not also be enthusiastic about his prospects.
Therefore your responses come as, alternatively, no surprise.

I figured Bortles' first year would be a struggle. I thought he'd shine by his 2nd. I no longer think he'll shine. He'll be a fine back-up somewhere once JAX gives up on him.

A reminder that Alex Smith struggled his first seven seasons in the NFL. And Sam Bradford had all kinds of issues with the Rams and Eagles his first five years.
Both have had much better careers since a change in coaching.

Bradford in Minnesota last season:

Alex Smith one year under Harbaugh and in KC:

Alex Smith nor Sam Bradford will have the same career as Carr. They're both caretakers until their respective teams can get good QBs. Bortles probably qualifies as a caretaker.

Carr's numbers look pretty similar to Smiths' and Bradford's if you ask me. Lower even in QB rating in two of the seasons.

Not being sarcastic but do you watch the NFL? This is a college thread so you may not. But you might be the first person, on earth, to compare Carr to Smith/Bradford.

Any comment from the "Johnny Football" lovers after his Canadian debut?
