Anddddd it appears that disparity is growing a little more today.

Sure, if you consider a WHIP 35% lower "almost identical," I guess.  He gives up over 20% fewer hits and less than half as many walks, ratewise.

I guess our standards for "identical" are a little different..

OK, but we're talking about samples of 60 and 67 innings. And a difference of 9 walks. One walk every 6 or 7 appearances for these guys.

It wasn't meant as a slight against Uehara, he's having a great year.

In my opinion, throwing 60 innings while allowing 34 hits, 18 walks, and 7 earned runs and striking out 89 is almost identical to throwing 67 innings while allowing 29 hits, 9 walks, 8 earned runs and striking out 94.

Was Koji part of the Chris Davis trade?  At the time it didn't look very good for Baltimore!
I hope you're being sarcastic. That trade was a win for the O's from day one and has gotten even better over time.

And not to take anything away from Koji, but a good percentage of his pitches are slow stuff or stuff that drops out of the strikezone. If hitters started taking until they got 2 strikes, he'd have a lot less success, IMO.
