The funny/sad thing was that if Derek Jeter had spent his career on the haters' teams instead of the Yankees, they'd all be licking his balls
I agree and disagree a bit.  Had he played this great for say....the Reds.  I don't think Jeter is the JETER that people think of today.  They'd think he was a very good ballplayer and a legit HOF'er, but not all the hoopla he's getting now.

I respect Jeter.  Hustled his *** off.  HOF'er.  Slayer of mad *****.  Big ups to him.

Now, since I gave him some props, I have to give him some bumps....his defense was WAY overrated.  No way he deserved all those GG's.  Joke.

I'm done!
If Jeter played for the Astros he'd be Craig Biggio.
Yes, I said this earlier.  He's a little better.

I understand my point of view is to an extreme.  I am a hater.  I think it's an attempt to counteract the extreme that Jeter is viewed as.

Are you going to provide the quote where Jeter was showing non-support for A-Rod?   Or are we going to use one play as the "See what I'm talking about?!"

As I said, every IF defers to the SS.   You learn that in Little League.   Except for A-Rod.
Every time he got a question about ARod, there was never a "He's our teammate, we'll support him" quote.  It was always dismissive. His dislike for ARod is well documented.  If you need me to find an example, i can.  You're kinda playing dumb right now.

I'm well-aware that he didn't go to A-Rod's many press conferences/interviews and stand next to him with his arm around his shoulder.    But I don't think there's an example of him saying "******* A-Rod.  Go talk to him about the dumb **** he does."

LOL.  NY Post selling papers and a dude selling a book.

Honestly, the most obvious, IMO, example is the 'roid pressers.   He was at Pettite's, he was at Giambi's, he was absent at A-Rod's.    But he was pretty vocal during all of those times with "No.   Everybody wasn't doing it" statements.

So he's straight-up misquoting Cashman? He's lying?

No idea.  I wasn't there.  I'll freely admit that the play looked bad.  The eat-**** look and walking away was there for everyone to see.  But everyone has a breaking point.  I doubt Jeter was the only one tired of A-Rod's act.  He was just the one people wanted to know how tired he was of it.

I'm not saying A-Rod's not an *******.  It's obvious he is.  You should be able to work with people when you need to, though.  I've managed to get along with many people I didn't necessarily like at work, because it was the right thing to do.  It sounds like Jeter was kinda being a ***** about the whole thing.  But great leader, great clubhouse presence.  Always does the right thing.  Yup.

You can see their mouths on the close-up at the end of the play.  Jeter was calling it all the way.  ARod's mouth was clamped shut.

I would describe Jeter's actions as "understandable".  You're tracking a ball hit in your zone, calling for it the entire time, and Marcel Marceau decides to play statues and causes as easy infield pop-out turn into a runner on base.  Anybody would have been ******.

So you saw the end of the play and assumed ARod never call for it.  The play itself, yes, probably A-Rod's fault, even though he backed up a couple feet and was under the ball, and Jeter was still ranging to his right as he was trying to catch it.

Again, the point is Jeter can do no wrong.  He muffed on a pop-up w/ARod, glared at him, and couldnt be bothered to pick up the ball, leaving ARod looking for it and the left fielder picking it up.  If it was ARod doing that to Jeter, he'd be the worst human being in Yankeeland.
Sounds like you're assuming ARod DID call for it.  So did he not hear his SS also calling for it?  Or was Jeter just miming "I got it, I got it, I got it . . . "?

Read Torre's book.   A-Rod makes it difficult to want to even attempt to like him.

I'm sure he wasn't.  But there's a double standard with Jeter.  If Jeter does something, it's right and justified.  If someone else does, **** that guy.

I am assuming A-Rod called for it.  You play infield all your life, you're going to say that on popups.  And yes, it's Jeter's ball.

Other than the two examples I've listed, no-show at the 'roid presser and eat-**** look on the field, do you have any evidence that Jeter was being a ***** about the whole thing?    More often than not, they stood side by side in the dugout.  Usually A-Rod trying to mimic what Jeter was doing.

That's fair.  But A-Rod being a ******** doesn't mean Jeter's an angel.
