Determination of Player Categories
Each person will submit his player category here. It must be something that can be searchable in the WIS search engine.  For example, catchers with 9+ triples in a season, min 20 games, secondary positions unchecked, season type = full --> 20 players.

A couple of rules in determining your player category. (1) Always set Season Type = Full, so we eliminate the players with multiple combined versions for the same season. (2) Make sure you do not include seasons prior to 1920 in your search.  (3) We will set a maximum number of possible choices for your category based on the number of teams in the league. IN this case 20-team league, so your category should produce between 20 and 25 player choices. Some leeway will be given if your category goes a little over the max, if the commissioner feels that it does not ruin the spirit of the theme. (All players in the query are eligible to be drafted).

The spirit of the theme is to come up with a category that has some variability between the top players and the bottom players. If you submit a category with all crappy players, everybody bids 1 and you really haven't added anything to the theme.  Also, if there isn't much difference between the top player and the 20th best player, then why would anybody bid more than a couple credits?  It's also fun to have a couple of categories with different fielding positions mixed in.  This adds some flexibility.

The commissioner (i.e., yours truly) has the right to request an owner to tweak his category or come up with a new category if he determines the category has too much overlap with another category or is somewhat of a useless category. Also, during the category selection process, the commissioner will be giving suggestions on what kind of categories are still needed in order to ensure there is a proper mix between position players, starting pitchers and relief pitchers.

Owners may change their category after submitting it.

Since there are 20 owners and 25 categories needed, the first five names on the signup list will get to submit a second category.

26 total seasons--I know you want 20-25, but decreasing the floor of HR/100AB would lop off some of the top tier guys that would make this category more attractive. If you have another idea of how to pare it down, let me know.

AKlopp: If you raise the PA floor to 400, you get it down to 24. If you raise it to 475, you get down to 21.

I will bump up the min PA to 350, then we get to 25 players (eliminating a useless Jim Spencer season).
