I think everyone knows that is a possibility when they sign up.  And there is only 16 teams, so if someone gets Ruth and Young, there is still plenty of great players to combat that.

Young is great in a normal progressive, but every pitcher is available in this league. There will be Pete Alexander, Walter Johnson, joss, brown, Gibson, Pedro, etc.

The 1/16 chance at Ruth is exciting. I would guess he will have less value in this progressive (but still be the best by far).

The research will be tough. You can't assume you can get a SS in the next round when you don't even know your region.

Anyway, I admit I have no real idea how this will work out, but we are now up to 9 so if we get to 16 we will find out. 

If it crashes and burns we will have learned something. Plus then we can always join that new guy in the forums who is shouting in all caps about stuff. That looks like fun.

I like the concept. Now if only Idaho had more stud players... oh well. Count me in!

Ok..I've been sitting on the fence for long enough...much to my wife's chagrin, I will jump in as well.

The players drafted then begin their careers in our drafted season, and continue on the rosters until traded to another team or until they retire.


We never *cut* anyone?, we must wait until they retire?

What about IR years?

No we can cut players and yes there are IR years. I will edit the intro as soon as I get a chance. 

It should have read "unless cut" - IR players continue on our rosters as in most other prog leagues, they just don't play that season.

We are almost there. We need three more. Once we have one more owner, I will run the random tables for all the draft rounds (30 rounds in all) so that everyone will know what region they are drafting from in what round. That should ease research in that everyone can make an educated guess which players will still be available from that region in which round that they are drafting from it. 

We will likely do the first two rounds off the clock till we have had a chance to get used to the system and gotten research done, also because the quality of players means no one wants to be rushed. Then I will put us on the clock. 

We will draft in the Theme League Forum, and I will send everyone a sitemail when we are full and when we are ready to go. 

So will it eventually be something like a round a day, and people can pick anytime they want? Since players are exclusive to their region the order of the round won't matter. Maybe wait to start the next day's draft until at least 3am eastern though, so the west coast players still get a full day. Of course for you italyprof the time zones are a whole other issue.
