SOTF: Winner Announced Topic

ELIMINATION CHALLENGE:

We are going to take a world tour and hit up 6 different sports and this will truly test your prediction skills.

Please note the deadline for picks is 2:45am EST SUNDAY MORNING.

All players will need to enter picks for every sport!!!!

RYDER CUP:
On Sunday there are 12 singles matches.  You will pick 5 of those matchups.  They will be announced some time Saturday afternoon/evening.
For the 5 matchups you pick I need:
-The winner of the matchup (worth 10 points for each correct answer)
-The amount of holes that golfer won by (worth 20 points for each correct answer and it needs to be exact)
- If you choose to predict the match as halved, it would be worth 25 points for getting it right

BERLIN MARATHON:
This one is simple.  Please predict the men's and women's winners.  Each correct answer is worth 75 points.

NASCAR AAA 400:
Please predict the top 5 finishers, in order from 1st to 5th.
Correct predictions score as follows:
1st place correct: 50 points
2nd place correct: 40 points
3rd place correct: 30 points
4th place correct: 20 points
5th place correct: 10 points

If you predict all 5 in order correctly, I'll give you 75 bonus points.
If you predict all 5 in the top 5, but not in the correct order I'll give you 25 bonus points.

NFL:
You can pick players from any games that are played on Sunday.

Predict the leader for each category:
Most passing yards
Most rushing yards
Most receiving yards

Each correct answer is worth 100 points.
Any ties for the leader will count (example: Stafford and Brees both throw for 421 yards and are high for the week and you pick Stafford, you would get 100)

MLB:

Similar to the NFL, any games from Sunday are eligible.

Predict the following:
Pitcher with most strikeouts
Team with most hits

Each correct answer is worth 150 points.
Again ties are fine.

I'll add up all the points, lowest score is out.

Tiebreaker:
Pick the winner of all NFL games on Sunday. Most correct wins in a tie.
If still tied, order received.

Two things - 1, as someone who actually follows distance runners, I'm stunned that we all got those right. 2, primetime and I did not share our picks, lol
9/28/2014 11:02 AM
I just picked the two favorites.
9/28/2014 4:10 PM
Brees, Murray and Cooks play tonight, so in theory there are points to be earned, however...

primetime27 did not submit any tiebreakers, so he will be eliminated as him and tropicana both have Brees.

9/28/2014 8:26 PM
That isn't necessarily true....in the case that Brees leads the NFL in passing wouldn't NYaggie be eliminated??

Whoops, I'm an idiot.  Carry on, nothing to see here.
9/28/2014 9:41 PM
With DeMarco Murry being the top rusher, nyaggie finishes 1st.

Primetime27 and tropicana tied, but with no tiebreaker picks from primetime and with tropicana getting 6 out 11 picks right in NFL games,

Primetime27 is officially eliminated and is the first member of our jury.
