Samuel Hughes is one of two very good offensive linemen we lose to graduation. He started for two and a half years and was a big part of several playoff teams.

Angel Rosado played a LOT. He was a major part of the offensive line for four years, a stretch where Washburn-Topeka won 45 games. We'll miss him dearly.

Jeff Wright was an OK starter my first year here, but this season, he turned into the anchor on our defensive line. His best game came against Central Arkansas (one of our better wins this year), where he had five of his 14 sacks. We've got a lot of depth on the defensive line, but Wright will be tough to replace.

Lawrence had a breakout year as a senior, when he finally got a chance to play regularly. He sat behind some talented players his first three years, but he was no slouch himself.

William Saunders is the guy we're probably going to miss most on defense next year. A three-year starter, he turned into a force as a senior, leading the team in tackles. It's tough to replace such a gifted linebacker in a 4-3 defense.

We've got some depth in our secondary, but losing Michael Neal is going to hurt, too. He was a very strong defensive back who made some big plays this year.

Not too much to say about Harris except he did his job well for four years. This loss won't sting too much, especially since I red-shirted a pre-existing backup when I got here (he's now a junior next year).

As one final update before we close the book on this season, Slippery Rock won the national title. Additionally, Long Island made the round of eight and Cheyney advanced to the second round of the tournament, so of our four losses, three came to three of the final 16 teams left. Again, not bad for a rebuilding season.

Jerry Metcalf has the makings of a very nice running back. He's a good athlete, a smart player, and someone who can catch passes out of the backfield.

Potential: "With your coaching, I think his game has a lot of room to grow."

The WR crop wasn't the best this year, but Steve Horne is a good prospect. He's already a good athlete with a solid pair of hands, and his work ethic/good potential combo is enticing. I do wish his game instinct was better, but hopefully, that'll change with time.

Potential: "With your coaching, I think his game has a lot of room to grow."

Gary Berry came up 13 miles from me, and I knew I had to have him. We have two senior TE's this year, and my prospect from last year is a big risk. Berry, though, is a do-it-all prospect. He's athletic enough to be a target down the field, and he's also an excellent blocker with huge potential. I had to promise him a start as a sophomore, but he'll get that and turn into a very, VERY good player.

Potential: "He's got the potential to improve his game a lot over 4 years with us."

I wound up with three offensive line recruits, which wasn't my original plan but will wind up just fine. Estrada is probably the best prospect of the group. He's a heck of a blocker, his game instinct/technique scores are nice, and he'll improve a lot with time. He may play a little as a freshman, and I certainly see him as a very good starter for several seasons down the road.

Potential: "He's got the potential to improve his game a lot over 4 years with us."

Robert Hanna, like Gary Berry, was pretty close to me. He's an OK blocker who could be stronger, but I really like his GI/technique ratings. His potential isn't off the charts, but he'll turn into a pretty good player.

Potential: "I think his growth potential is pretty average - nothing special."

One of my o-linemen will redshirt, and Stephen Wall is probably the most logical candidate. He's a solid, unspectacular prospect with decent ratings across the board. He's not exciting, but he'll be a useful starter down the line.

Potential: "I think his growth potential is pretty average - nothing special."
