Nickel/Dime vs Pro/ I /NDBSets Topic

amorak, I think you make many good points here.  It would not be good for WIS to give us the "keys to the city", so to speak.  But I do think it is their job to "coach" the coaches a wee bit.  It is a good thing that coaches can win with many different approaches.  In my opinion, there are some very basic concepts, regarding how the engine actually works, that have not been explained to us and that we all deserve.  A certain level of "basic information" should be provided and it has not been for this engine (3.0 or 3.1).

One thing I have tried to draw out (with minimal success) with the position key attributes discussions, is "how" and "why" certain coaches do things.

Example from above:  My definition of "best" WR was a speedy guy with really good tech (sort of leftover from the 2.0 engine).  Perhaps that definition is not appropriate for successful use of a WR in the #3 spot?  What makes a good (or in this case, bad) CB to cover that guy?  Is it a lack of CB speed that is exploited?  or what?

Simply saying put your best whatever in such and such spot on the depth chart is only meaningful when additional details are provided, in order to get the "context" correct.
