My strategy for the first roster was to select my perfect pitching staff and a bunch of hall of fame position players worst seasons. Was this strategy used by anyone else? I'll be happy to get any of the position guys or pitchers.
I change my strategy each season and have yet to find one that works. I usually finish with between 70-80 wins. There are just too many quality owners in this league it seems.

Oops. Somebody must have sent in 26 players by mistake.
Nope. Commissioner's error.Babe Ruth got into the list of players claimed four times; he was claimed three times. (Reaction upon discovering this: "argh!") Results package will be sent out as I as find out how badly I lost game 4 of the EO48 World Series.

EDIT:  wow, we actually won, 3-1. Tied at 2 games apiece.

Now everyone should have their sitemail and the master list has been posted on page 1. And, last but not least, the list of players claimed exactly twice, because the world should know that I had Bill Bernhard in my back pocket until the last roster came in.

Wow. Almost all of the guys I lost were only claimed by one other person. Maybe I'm onto something (like the express train to the basement)
12/31/2014 2:33 PM
Not sure if getting 19 players in round one is a good thing. I do know that losing 750 IP and two starters in the lineup hurts.
12/31/2014 3:00 PM
wow.... didn't see that coming... only 9!

12/31/2014 3:21 PM
I got 21...including my entire rotation, by some miracle. Only lost out on a 1B, DH, super-sub, and a setup man.
12/31/2014 3:25 PM
I have played this theme for a long time but I believe even though I only got 9 , this could be the best first round I have ever had. I have my first six hitters in my lineup who could average .362 with great defense. I also got my number one pitcher, my closer, and my primary setup man. One year I had one of the least number in round one and another year I had the most. Both years I went a long way in the playoffs. You never know.

I got Silver King and some of my bullpen; so that's great.

Got Hornsby, Lajoie, Ted Williams, Bonds and Bench though.
12/31/2014 3:51 PM (edited)
I got 22 players losing out on only Ted Kluszewski, Dean Chance and Mordecai Brown. With so many other great players still available I consider this draft a success. With Brown being a superb dead baller and Klus a upper class power hitter, I can see why others chose them as well. We will see how my base stealers perform in San Diego Stadium.

Now I feel really depressed. Got all of my subs but not much else. Long way to go tho.........
