1974 also still open ... In 1974 Nolan Ryan won over 20 games , had ERA under 3.00 and pitched over 300 IP's ... So did fellow pitching aces Gaylord Perry and Phil Niekro ... Folks like Johnny Bench, Mike Scmidt, and Jim Wynn could field like aces while capable of putting over 30 homers over the fence ...
