it's often harder to get a player to accept a redshirt when you have multiple walkons.
As if your lowest ranked recruit sees that he's better than those two walkons.

So, for the most part, if you don't guarantee a freshman minutes or a starting spot then they will probably take a redshirt without issue? Assuming all scholarships are filled.
